Pretty sure the islanders owners will own a stake in this as well and won't be paying rent. Dolan is an investor in one of the company's that would be joining with others that would finance it. It's just another way for Dolan to make a little extra cash. Nothing is going to hurt business for MSG. Every act comes to NY to play MSG first regardless of what other arenas are around. This would be facking awesome if it goes down. Not saying you're complaining but not sure how anybody could complain about this. Dolan will just be part of an investment group. He will not be calling the shots like he does at MSG

Just curious what his role would be. I know it's all financially motivated. You're right, everybody wants to play MSG. That's pretty much the goal of every act.

When I say call the shots I'm talking about the Arena and not the actual team

Yeah, it was more of people worried about Dolan. He has one thing, the knicks, he don't care about hockey

He cares more about Oak being in the building than hockey.

What I got from the article is that a company he is invested in would help fund the arena with the wilpons and I would guess the new owners as well. Thus making Dolan one of many investors in this project. Nothing to do with the day to day with the arena

Totally agree Vukota, I know Dolan was pretty pissed when they lost out on the NVMC rebuild. They wanted a venue presence outside of Manhattan where they basically have a monopoly with MSG, The Theater at MSG, Radio City The Beacon theater etc.
It would be a kick in the Nitz tohis only real competitors in NY BC and the renovated coliseum

The reason guys like him have money is because they know how to have their money make even more money. Not going to invest in something that would seem fly-by-night or dicey.

I Have a feeling the new coliseum is going to crash and burn. They just had to postpone the development of the surrounding land They are a complete mess in Nassau

As a side note, we ruined Julien's post-game celebration for his 1,000th game coached. Aaaaaahh, too bad. Maybe we can ruin all his other milestone moments.
