Frees up a roster spot for the Barz-man too.
It's low risk. Worst case scenario? Duclair sucks and we gave up a couple of totally-replaceable players for him. Best case? Duclair hated ARI and returns to how he played with the Rangers before being traded. That's a calculated risk I'll take any day of the week. - eichiefs9
if we are talking about freeing up a roster spot for anyone it has to be Pulock. the fact that seidenberg is playing every night while Pelech is in the press box and Pulock is in the minos does not make sense |

I don't anticipate that Mayfield will have a starting spot here next year.
So you're looking at:
2-55
44-3
14-6
50
Now that's assuming we don't lose any defensemen to the expansion draft. If we do, then there will definitely be a spot here for him AND Pelech.
Also assumes that we don't make any trades in which defensemen are included. |

Mayfield is making things interesting. Did not seem out of place against fast teams like the Rangers and Habs.
Have to think we lose de Haan or Hickey unless one of them are moved at the deadline? |

Why would you get banned? For sticking up for Bailey for all these years.... No, I was joking about why you were not here, saying, "I told you so."
I am amazed at the Bailey transformation.........at least, so far. I can only attribute it to Weight. Let's hope Bailey keeps up his high level of play. - JohnScammo
to be fair john, he had Cappy to teach him. when has any skill guy not named John Tavares (that is self motivated) ever thrived under Cappy.
if guys like Lee credit staying at College and learning from his college coach.
I do have to say. Bridgeport has been producing some great dman for us. I love Mayfield's Game and toughest. Makes me want to trade Hamonic for Eberle even more. |

I have to say Mayfield has played a lot better than I thought he would.

He does some little things I don't love, but overall he's been pretty solid. I have to imagine Snow would move Hickey or de Haan before the expansion draft if he thinks they're going to lose one of them. |

also while you ask on bailey he is 27 years old. Still plenty of years to be a amazing hockey players. By contrast, Radulov in montreal is 30 yrs old, has less points than Bailey and makes 6MM a year.
If next 5 years you see this bailey, wouldn't it be worth the wait? |

Yeah, better than I thought too. All things remaining constant, I still think he's the odd man out and that's the right decision. |

I'm curious to see how Hamonic does coming back if he is not traded. |

Nice job Dan and Noel. I'm fine with getting Landes and Barzal being 2C next year with Strome as RW. I agree about giving up Nelson and not Strome. Hard to see the Isles making a big deal at the deadline. This group maybe getting one more run and if they do not go on a long playoff run, you see a big move in the offseason. |

What's the latest on his health? Is he expected back soon? I'd love to see him 100% healthy, playing back in the 2nd pairing, under Weight. That would hopefully push Seidenberg up to the press box. |

I think maybe next week? It would be great to have Seidenberg back in the pressbox and hopefully Hamonic does even better with Weight coaching. |

Mayfield brings toughness and physicality that this team sorely lacks. We have enough offensive dmen. We need a Rich Pilon type. Mayfield brings that edge. |

So the bumhole that makes it hard to find the Islander broadcast on TV will build them and arena? The guy that gives the Devils broadcast priority over the Islanders? No thank you. I can't even imagine how bad he would (frank) with us. |

I mean, he's part of a group of investors that are helping to back it. It's not like he's dipping into his own personal bank account to pay for the entire thing. |

Just my own opinion, I'd like to see Snow look into what Duclair would cost from ARI. I think he's getting a raw deal this year and if we could pry him out of there cheap I would be all for it. Speed kills and he's got it in spades. - eichiefs9
It probably wouldn't take much. He hasn't done jack-poop since he's been here. 1g 7a in 13 games. For someone with his "skill", he sure as hell isn't showing it here. It could, perhaps, be that there isn't enough talent on this team to help him out. However, when Perlini was sent down while the Coyotes were on their break, he had a hat trick (3g, 1a) in the lone game and looked dominant. Just my thoughts on it. |
