I remember thinking the same thing in 86...thought they were tired, beat up. Different times for sure and Larry was there....young Svoboda, (frank)ing clown shoes Roy. Point is...it just doesn't matter. Need more American teams to generate $ and now its so diluted who gives (frank)? Meh gotta have a generational player like Mathews? The poop they have going on right now might be as close as they get. So trade for Shattenkirk, costs more than the new russian but might help balance things

Yup.

Also, I'd bet tonight with the exemption of fido, mash, you, and me the rest in here we're going to dances with their dad in '86..

Very nice to hear.

Happy for you

Can you play the "I don't understand you card"?

Less and less.

You honestly think Shattenkirk would make a difference right now?

he should target Brodie in CGY, much better option imo

Shattenkirk is not very good in his own end...

He would most certainly help the PP

I really don't know what's going on with this team, I can't tell if they're really this bad anymore, they haven't been good in quite some time so it's hard to imagine them just flipping the switch on anytime soon so at this point if I'm Bergevin, I'm not really moving any young assets or draft picks

Sure but I'm not so sure Brodie is available

And him playing the right side wouldn't be a problem if it's just as a rental, signing him long term might cause issues down the road...

it's very simple. they don't have enough top6 forwards. if you count Gallagher, he's having a bad season, injured. and Galchenyuk is totally lost, also injured.
so they are left with Pax and Radulov. that's it. like someone said earlier, very easy to defend againts.

now, what option do they have to get some help up front?

not that many...

I feel like the problem with this team is mental more than anything which is even more frustrating. Otherwise I don't understand how a roster with some talent can be SO (frank)ing bad.

1-0 Boston

No he doesn't and that's why he shouldn't trade any, nobody is coming in to save this team, not one player so what's the point? If this core isn't good enough I'd rather not trade parts of what could be the future core... When your house is on fire, you don't start putting up curtains!

Shattenkirk is a FA and would cost a fraction of what Brodie, signed to a great deal would

This is disingenuous...because he's better than Petry, Beaulieu and Emelin defensively
