Big HELL NO for Burrows. Even ignoring his hair-pulling and biting tendencies, he has nothing left in the tank and hasn't for a couple seasons.

Hansen...yes please! He can play both wing and on the PK. He would be a solid addition (at a reasonable price) for the third line. Very useful player.

Because Anisimov doesn't slow the first line down there?
Or because Hanzal is a true first line or a second line center like
Anisimov.

I see Hanzal as a big center who plays against the other teams best centre, not a scoring wing.

Just not a fit in my opnion unless it frees another centre to move up to wing an AA is now a centre with chemistry with panarian and Kane. You think they are retooling the best line in hockey now?

- wiz1901

If Stan acquires Hanzal then the best spot for him as at 3C, no doubt about it.

Whenever I watch Hanzal I am very unimpressed.

I said it earlier today on the other thread, source echoed it. They read here, BTW.

Thanks for the excellent updates, JJ!

Count me in as one of those Burrows haters. I couldn't root for that POS under any circumstances.

Every GM and coach would want Kruger in their lineup....But the Hawks can't afford to keep him at his salary and they are grooming his replacement now. Moose has been playing well and Q seems to trust him, he also is better now than Kruger at the Dot.

Kruger will find a new address this summer.

- Al

he has too.....math doesn't defute that.

Again, kruger's deal is what it is, but so many get so amped up for all his hidden talents yet the guy has 100 career points. 100. Would love to see comparables vs Madden at this point in their careers, and madden played in a dog crap time for offense and for a team that ruined hockey.......trap, trap, trap........

Kinda harsh Feds? I have no issue with the Wings and their dynasty, hell the Hawks copied their blueprint themselves. But before you launch Holland, look around the league and think of the GM's around that could be mistaken for Moe, Larry or Curley.
- ILGolfer

Have you seen Holland and his cap management? Or his asset management? He inherited a team with Yzerman, Lidstrom, Fedorov, Shanahan, etc. with a rich owner before the cap era. Then he was blessed by Hakan Andersson scouting Zetterberg and Datsyuk. Holland gets far more credit than he ever deserved.

Vrbata has playoff bonuses in his contract that I would think are non starters. 500K just for making it, and 250K for each round won. Plus he left here on a real bad note.
- SaadBeast

retained salary would be a given.....but the other variable is where does Panarin stand vs top 10 in scoring. that's where the hawks get smoked in bonus land........

Got to say this about the Pens..........wtf is in the water in Steel City? Every year it seems they lose more man hours to injuries than any team. Certainly in the top 3 or so over the last 5-10 years. Just crazy.
- ILGolfer

might behoove super Mario to look at his trainers and strength coach....lots of injuries and just can't be a fluke......

"Hawks signing Glass is not an insignificant move."
- John Jaeckel

This seems to be more than just making him available for the expansion draft. Carruth would meet that requirement by just giving him an offer sheet since he's a RFA this summer...

Is Hanzal a superstar? Heck no. Is he a MASSIVE body that can win face-offs, matchup against the opponent's top lines, win board battles, screen the goalie, and contribute some depth offense? YES! I think he would be a (literal and figurative) HUGE addition to the lineup, at the right price.

Nobody loves mathematical properties more than a futures/option trader like me but me thinks if Stevie Y went to ownership in Tampa and quoted those odds he'd get one of two responses......(1) "so we were in the cup final a couple of years ago and now we're a 4 lousy points out of a playoff spot and you want to be a seller?" or (2) "never tell me the odds!!"
- ILGolfer

Or it's smoke and mirrors. Boston and Florida have three games each between now and the deadline, Tampa has two, could be a fluid situation.

Breadman is currently tied for 15th with 53 points among forwards. 10th place is 56.

Totally agree!!!

Toews, AA, Hanzel, Kruger/Kero down the middle looks good. Kero moves to wing or Kruger does since he isn't taking draws.

TSN still gives Tampa only a 20% chance of making the playoffs... but it will be a dogfight for the bottom few in each conference

eaves and hanzal being put into their forward group intrigues me. i don't know if kruger would go to AZ in a deal for Hanzal, but if he didn't...the thought of toews/anisimov/hanzal/kruger up the middle is very very interesting and very strong. hawks would add size with both players and would have great depth heading into the playoffs.

Hanzal also gives the option of sending him out to take AA draws, then a quick change.
