Was listening to NHL Network and I agree with their view...The Flyers are a dumpster fire and they should dump in a big way...

Del Zotto might be an interesting play for Bowman, if he goes all in for a dman.

It also fits with the triple H line name.

Agreed. Only thing is Holland needs defensemen, young NHL guys and prospects. Hawks have a couple of those they could part with. And Holland has a lot of good forwards.
- John Jaeckel

Holland needs a new job more than anything.

I haven't heard asking price on Hanzal......but usually big centers fetch a lot.

Dahlbeck and 1st got you Vermette

Could still be looking at Vrbata........

Del Zotto is going all in?

Hardly. I don't think he'd even see the ice here. TvR/Kempny are better.

Back from celebrating Marcus Kruger's 100th career point....what a week.

I thought Hawks looked very well and a huge win against Minnesota considering that may have been the worst game I have seen #2 play in quite some time. he was horrid. 19 has awoken...so hopefully this continues. Big win and keeps the faint dream of winning the division there, although I think I saw something like Minnesota plays 23 games in 40 something days?

On trades.....IMO this team is a top 9 forward away from being a VERY hard out....AND an additional physical D man away from being a true cup contender.

A top 9 forward will allow Q to float 81 back up to 19 but also giving enough depth to line 3 to being a scoring threat IF the rookies 48 or 67 run into problems amping up their games in the spring.

A physical d man would help 7 and stabilize the back end a little more. However, asking prices for D men just keep going up....doubt Bowman pays that price.

- SteveRain

Every GM and coach would want Kruger in their lineup....But the Hawks can't afford to keep him at his salary and they are grooming his replacement now. Moose has been playing well and Q seems to trust him, he also is better now than Kruger at the Dot.

Kruger will find a new address this summer.

That's one hell of a "3rd Line". I'm probably getting a bit too excited at the prospect of adding a massive 200ft Center like Hanzal to this roster!! Schenn will never live up to his Draft Spot but he is also a MONSTER and would probably be a good insurance policy if Kempny regresses or if there is an injury.

Meh Hanzal isn't that great. He is pretty much a 3C. Kruger is probably better imo.

Vrbata has playoff bonuses in his contract that I would think are non starters. 500K just for making it, and 250K for each round won. Plus he left here on a real bad note.

That line would provide scoring ability and two-way play. That line can score and Hanzal can be a net guy on the PP.

Guessing the price would be: Player X, Forsling or Motte, and a second rounder

Unfortunate about Palat, but... Palat-Toews-Hossa

TB will be sorry if they don't deal a vet or 2, plus Bishop.

5 points out, 4 teams ahead of them.

6 RFA to sign, plus 4 UFA.

THN has them at 22% to make the playoffs.

Nobody loves mathematical properties more than a futures/option trader like me but me thinks if Stevie Y went to ownership in Tampa and quoted those odds he'd get one of two responses......(1) "so we were in the cup final a couple of years ago and now we're a 4 lousy points out of a playoff spot and you want to be a seller?" or (2) "never tell me the odds!!"

Out of context...

I think Bowman can't get two quality players to add to the lineup.
So if he picks defense as the need Del Zotto fits the design here and he is much more physical than Campbell. That's what I meant by all in...I think it's an either or, more offense or another dman, not both.

Del Zotto isn't better than TVR but he plays 19 mins a night and has a lot more NHL experience than Kempny. He would be good insurance and there will be teams after him.

Big HELL NO for Burrows. Even ignoring his hair-pulling and biting tendencies, he has nothing left in the tank and hasn't for a couple seasons.

Hansen...yes please! He can play both wing and on the PK. He would be a solid addition (at a reasonable price) for the third line. Very useful player.

They traded Ben Smith for him.......

See if Hawks feel like they have to "get bigger"

In 2014 they lost to Kings and Bowman SR publicly admitted they were too small down the middle. last year San Jose came out of the west.

While we think here the west is wide open at 1901 w Madison I'm sure they are evaluating potential matchups to see how they stand up vs opponent. SJ, Anh, Minn, STL, Nash, Edm to start with.

Pittsburgh D men dropping like flies.......

- SteveRain

Got to say this about the Pens..........wtf is in the water in Steel City? Every year it seems they lose more man hours to injuries than any team. Certainly in the top 3 or so over the last 5-10 years. Just crazy.

Besides those probabilities were at 15% a couple of days ago. They are trending in the right direction and Stamkos started skating Tuesday.

Cool, Move Anisimov to LW....Hanzel to center. problem solved.
- hawk35

Because Anisimov doesn't slow the first line down there?
Or because Hanzal is a true first line or a second line center like
Anisimov.

I see Hanzal as a big center who plays against the other teams best centre, not a scoring wing.

Just not a fit in my opnion unless it frees another centre to move up to wing an AA is now a centre with chemistry with panarian and Kane. You think they are retooling the best line in hockey now?

- Feds91Stammer

Kinda harsh Feds? I have no issue with the Wings and their dynasty, hell the Hawks copied their blueprint themselves. But before you launch Holland, look around the league and think of the GM's around that could be mistaken for Moe, Larry or Curley.

JJ I agree and disagree with you. I know playoff teams are going to come hard at us, no doubt. Can we use another legitimate forward with size or is hard to play against aka Burrows, with out a doubt. Regarding the Oilers game we beat ourselves, the Wild tried to do the same thing and the Hawks started attacking the front of the net in the 2nd period, when this team decides to get pinched along the boards and refuses to take what's given them which is the front of the net, they lose and are lucky to score one goal.

This team is going to be a tough out especially with the way the captain is playing, and honestly the resurgence of that line is all Toews he's playing like one of the best centers in the league right now, can the the Hawks use another skilled forward absolutely the more the merrier, but no bottom of the barrel deals like we made with the Habs last year.
