You go out of your way to pick and find certain stats to be worried about, even when the team is playing well. And I've never once seen you list a compliment or something positive. Not once.

Team averaging nearly 31 shots on goal against and still 28th in penalty kill.

These are THE reasons why the GAA is higher these days.

Speaks to a lack of forecheck (only one scoring line) and the lazy collapse PK scheme.

Since Crawford came back from surgery, they've given up 70 in 25 games - 2.8 per game, 15th in the league.

5x5, they've given up 50 - 2.0 per game, 20th in the league.

Now, they're scoring more - and winning (16-9-0), so maybe it doesn't matter.

My preference would be to tighten up the defense for when the offense doesn't come so "easily", but YMMV, I guess.

Well, collect the 2 points and prepare to play a much better defensive game against the Blues on Sunday. Hopefully Hammer is OK by then.

I hope Tarasenko doesn't own us like usual. Regular season last 15 games against the Hawks he has 12 goals and 6 assists.

Then looking at the last two playoff series against Chicago, he has 8 goals and 10 points in those 13 games.

Combined that is 20 goals and 28 points in 28 games.

Beating the Blues would be so much easier if we had an answer to this guy!!! Seems like whenever he starts getting that wrist/snap shot going he just beats CC high glove.

Anyone notice the placement of top players shots (and where goals are being scored).
One thing I noticed specifically with Kane on his shot placement, is he's shooting towards the goalies pants, where new NHL regulations just make them smaller. And, its working...

Was there ever any Doubt ,well on this board there was as always . Coyotes have played well of late ,and have a fast young team that are playing without a care .And will be a strong team in the future .Nice to see Rozy with the winner ,he seemed to play better after getting that monkey off his back and settled down a bit . Kane nice Hatty ,that line looked swell . Schmaltz with another strong game . Hope Hammer is ok ,to bad Hino had to sit . Team looks balanced and ready . My preference is to analyze this team and try to figure out where they are. Right now - scoring a lot and scoring balanced (for the first time in 2 years) and using that to win a lot of games - but giving up way too many for my comfort - too many defensive breakdowns that Crawford is not covering up, like he was before his surgery.

I would guess the coaches view the game more like I do - but - maybe I'm the outlier, so....

But - I'm tired of saying things using facts and logic - but not getting facts and logic back - just "you're too negative". Enough.

I think there will be always things to work on and improve down the stretch here. At least the teams isn't leaning on the goalie so heavy lately. I mean, yes more goals are going in, but I don't think the Hawks are playing worse in front of the goalie, just that the goalie isn't bailing them out so much. Overall, they've improved, but still some work to do to be solid. I think they will get a faceoff winning C if they can.

SEE! This guy gets it

So I noticed Marlowe's comment earlier about Hammer missing the morning skate...so he's hurt and tried to give it a go tonight...thus Rozy dressed just in case and Hammer ended up only playing what 3 shifts or more...meanwhile Rozy totally screened Crow on the first one and then gave up on his man on the second...yet he gets the game winner. Crow was a little off and then settled in.

Hawks 8-1 in their last nine (and thankfully finally won a home game)...trap game this evening with the Blows Sunday and then the Pens coming in next week. The Yotes have played well of late however...and showed it tonight and then 88 took over.
Hawks dominated at times with stretches where Arizona just couldn't get the puck out of their zone.

Nice to see the HAWKS players laughing and joking on the bench even when the game was still tight ,glad they don't take themselves nearly as serious as some on this board do .The smiles were really there after Rozy goal,you can tell the players love the guy . . It's still a game and you gotta have some fun .Team is gaining confidence by the day ,and that is a good sign .. GO HAWKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right. 8-2 in their last 10, rolling four lines consistently, positive side corsi now consistently...but they're giving up way too many goals. Whatever. Enough indeed.

Hawks get by Coyotes in a mess of a game. Smith was awful.

Coaches nightmare on both sides.

2 points in the bank and the home losing streak is over.

Best aspect of the game for me...PK. Baby steps.
