I disagree. Trade both to the highest bidder. Neither is part of the plan going forward. Better to stock up on prospects. |

How many concussions is that now, 3? Sounding like he won't be around for a full career... |

You're right. The Devils are so overloaded with prospects, that keeping an almost 34 and 32 year old should be kept and part of the future. |

Crosby didn't have 3 concussions at 19 years old. Zacha plays much more physical too. That PoS old Rag Brassard had to have done it to him too...I hate to say it but trade the kid for picks or prospects. Feel really bad for him. |

The age at which Crosby got 'em doesn't matter. Today's rules make it safer in terms of finding and treating concussions. |

Ofc it matters in comparison to Zacha. The more concussions you endure the more susceptible you are to them. Having 3 by 19 regardless of how bad is a very ominous sign. Don't care about Crosby anyway because again, Zacha plays a more physical game. |

He's not that much physical. The resent games I've seen, he hasn't done a ton of hits in that matter. Instead of hitting the dman, on a defenseive zone pass, he skates right by him.
To the bolded above, I don't think that is true, just a something that people believe. |

It is proven. The recovery time also lengthens. I think Zacha has been maybe trying to avoid physical play recently because he has been doing so well and didn't want an injury, especially something like this to happen. My heart is heavy af atm. |

And did you notice how none of the top teams have guys this age on their roster?
Sorry, not sure what the sarcasm font is....
The future is fictions. You can draft for the next 20 years and not build a good team. The best players on the Devils right now we're aquired via trade and free agency.
Notice how all the other big drafting teams like Arizona, Carolina, Buffalo and until this year (trade and free agent signings) Edmonton suck?

Stop fighting it. PAP and Quincey are goners. The Devils can easily replace 3rd pairing and 3rd line talent. Its a matter of top pair and top 6 forwards. |

I'm not fighting it. I'm completely fine with trading people when it makes sense. Move Quincey and Pap because they're UFA's and can bring in assets. Just stop the ridiculousness about age. These guys may only have a few decent years left but it's unrealistic to think we are magically going to time everyone on the roster peaking at one point 3 years in the future. Teams are a built with a mix of players.
Our team blows and you keep hearing player X is too old. Player Y is a free agent and will get overpaid and have a bad contract in 4 years. We're keeping cap space to when it's time to make a move... well guess what; teams with older payers, overpaid free agents and no cap space are winning the league... |

I don't recall the Blackhawks, Penguins or Sharks having overpaid free agents. You build through the farm and only then can you fill your roster out with free agents and veterans. The Maple Leafs may as well be the gold standard because they are the team I wish the Devils were. |

Oh, I don't care if anyone's old. If the player is useful, they're useful. A team of all prospects doesn't make sense either.

You're missing that the Devils never stunk badly enough to get a top pick. Pens drafted first and second overall for Crosby and Malkin. Blackhawks picked first and third overall for Kane and Toews. Maple Leafs first and fourth for Matthews and Marner. Not sure how the Sharks fit into this. Thornton and Burns were elsewhere. Marleau was second overall a million years ago. Vlasic and Pavelski were diamonds in the rough. |

Alright, with this sad news coming in on zacha, i'm beginning to think we should trade him. A package of Zacha, and our two second rounders for Duchene? Just an idea.
Also, another idea as far as targeting Colorado players. We need puck moving defensemen. How about a guy like Tyson Barrie? Not sure what his price tag would be but he'd certainly fit the criteria of what we're looking for on defense. I can imagine he'd be much cheaper than Shattenkirk. |

Why would Colorado trade a stud center for a concussed prospect and two 2nds? I'd be down for Barrie at the right price |

Yes and that's why we need to trade PAP and Quincey. It's time to suck a bit. |
