The #Blackhawks have agreed to terms with goaltender Jeff Glass on a two-year contract that runs through the 2017-18 season.

So....this means.....

- BURDA13

They are gonna cut bait on one another f their other minor pro goalies, no more no less.

Again I ended up expounded in the last blog while you all moved, transferred them all...

Great blog as usual JJ. Hopefully the Hawks don't play down to their competition tonight, especially coming off the win against Minnesota

Hey I'm not advocating anything, just saying I heard the guy talking about it.

Before he got hurt Baertschi has having a solid season in Vancouver, I still think he's be a good addition.

Bowman and most GMs will say little and the answers are constructed to give you nothing but security in their ability.

Must I go back to that first hawk convention when asked twice about how the team was going to put their trust in goaltender Huet who never played more than 50 games in an NHL season including playoff?

We are confident...

This was before the hawk team mgmt had the couple of body guards there to wish them away....I gangstered my way through and asked a third time, and he angerly told me, "don't worry about it,"

Did he know Niemi was that backup, was he not sure if Crawford was gonna be elevated faster after his long seasoning in minor pro.

The answers whether they had them figured r not, were NOT for me the fan to know....

I don't think much has changed except he probably will never again be caught by a fan like me who wasn't a sheep, or ignorant reporter....

Nice pick up for the Pens with Daley out for the season

The GM insiders know who is looking and who are not
Public statements mean little either way

I think I was answering why the wings sent Fippula was traded, JJ.

Not sure what your point is.

The wings got old retire one of the best defenders in the history of hockey, had Rafalski (sp) become injury plagued as smaller defenders from the old rules did, had the front line stars get older and the late draft picks and player development was able to help fill holes and replace, none of the younger prospects over the course of years reached elite status.
And in my humble opinion the fact they weren't able re-establish solid top four defenders was another huge strike to their decline and the fact that jimmy howard who was by some considered equal to a young Crawford way back, never took the big steps and Mrazek athletic as he is might have overstayed his welcome with present teammates.
Good teams Cup teams ALWAYs go cold, bad, dark for a while and the management fought the good fight to keep the streak and try to challenge again.

But John somehow your comment /answer seemed to some sort of proof for doing things differently...I am really not sure because I go backward from13,12,11,10,09. Reading these so I may be missing your point.
That if they traded for the Duchense of that era, or kept Fuppila there present stage would be Rosy?
Was there a connection to the Hawks present situation and what you advocate?
I just felt like you swipe at me. (Tearing up)

I didn't read his response that way. The Wings let Filppula walk for nothing after 2013. He was not traded. I think JJ was just questioning the wisdom of that with his statement. I didn't remember the Wings having a problem with the cap at the time, but they did have a lot of prospects in the pipeline. While he wasn't core like Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Kronwall, he was part of the last championship team, and he was still young in comparison to other veterans from that team. I seem to remember that he did have the misfortune of getting injured in the 2013 series against the Hawks, though, so that could have factored into why he wasn't renewed.

Bryan Bickell on waivers. Being sent down to get back into game shape to make his NHL return.

Team felt Conditioning stint would be too short to get him back in shape.

Those two ingredients will help for sure-Not sure they can do both.

All I know for sure-The other night when Hammer was in the box-Q would rather play Keith for the full 2 mins on the PK than Campbell for 40 seconds. That's telling anyone that pays attention when the real season starts Keith better be up to the task every shift otherwise sooner or later it will likely make a difference. There was supposed to be more depth here on D this season, and there was but Keith still logs big minutes.

- Al

No question Al, and Keith seemed gassed and fumbled the puck at Corey's feet and bam it's in the net. Backfired on Q there.... Soupy isn't the greatest but you need to put some trust in him sometimes! Right there would have been one of those times...

Guys, Lightning are fours points out of playoffs and playing better. They wont be sellers. Drouin last year, Palat this year. They aint dealing. Hawks wont go big. Think Oduya and/or Eaves. UFA's, not Palat or Duchene. Schmaltz and Hartman just hitting their stride and you want to deal them? Makes no sense. Young, cheap, controllable. Not going anywhere.

Makes perfect sense to deal unproven rookies for spectacular NHL commodities.

well they have 4 teams to jump in order to make the 8th spot. Also, have several more contracts to deal with in the off season. So them moving one or two pieces may actually not be a shock

Chicago needs to go after(aggressively) Vanek or Eaves. Personally I prefer Vanek he's more offensively talented!... He almost gas 40 points on a depleted team like Detroit imagine on a line with Toews and Hossa!!!!... Be dangerous ! Plus he's affordable! Would give the Hawks 2 solid offensive lines 1 gritty line which can still score and a 4th line that checks kills penalties and makes big plays!...

That's where the Canes come in again. We make them the same sort of deal we've been making with you guys.

We can help out your cap situation, but it'll cost you.

That, or because Drouin, Palat and Johnson are ALL RFA's this year, we threaten to offer sheet them into oblivion.

The Bolts have salary cap/contract issues for next season. I wouldn't be surprised to see a contract get moved. But, I doubt The hawks make a deal for one of them.

Toews and Hossa prove to provide more depth and production while split up, so they won't be reunited unless there's another drought/shake up needed...but that will be a sign of other issues where Vanek himself won't solve
