but then them thinking Provorov scored when he didn't only made matters worse.
- dragonoffrost

What a joke. How the frank did the horn guy think it went in? I'll give the players a pass because they're in the heat of the moment but the horn guy really franked up. Must've dozed off and then woke up to see Provorov's hands up and thought "oh, shoot, I better sound the horn"

I'm in tank mode. Effort was there, I thought G was solid, physical, but they just do not have it.

I agree. It was correct.

I think it's funny the league complains about scoring being down but have a system to remove goals.

I just hate the fact that you never know what is contact and what isn't. I have seen some I clearly thought should be overturned and then weren't

And tries to "speed up" the game with short OT and shoot-outs but then adds ridiculously long delays for video reviews.

It isn't even a matter of selling at the deadline or not to me. It is a matter of what the (frank) are these guys actually bringing that isn't replaceable? Keeping them around to pretend to make a push at the playoffs is stupid in more ways than one, and bringing new players in would probably give them a better chance at competing anyway.

Here's my question. For the offsides the camera is above the class. Why don't they actually have clear plexy in the boards so you can have a camera ice level to see if skates are on the ice. It wouldn't have to be a huge cutout.

With all the tech available you think you could do that.

First : Giroux has a NMC and I doubt Colorado would want him.

Second: Last year has no bearing on this year. I look at Giroux's play and it is declining. First it was numbers but now it is actually the impact he has on games.

Third: No it's not all his fault. Many guys need to step up. But a lot of the guys I think can get back to a good level are guys that are younger and I see them slowly turning it around. Schenn has played pretty well. Couturier looks better each game now and his line with Voracek is showing a good pairing. Gostisbehere is playing better.

Lastly: A lot of things impact a team. The problem I have is with over an 8 million cap hit Giroux can't just be a role player. His decline looks bad right now. He has no burst and stays to the perimeter a lot. He isn't going to get fast or stronger with age and will be 30 soon.

THey are looking for NHL ready D, a pick, and a prospect for one of the two of Landeskog or Duchene. (Reportedly). So, how much for both? We need scoring clearly. And if G has run his time in Philly, would G, Gudas, one of : Sanhein, Morin, Myers, or Hagg , plus a 2nd or 3rd be enough? Provorov is off limits. And Ghost may or may not be.

Sure.

Or, and this might sound crazy, but hear me out.

Just let the refs and linesmen call the game in real time and be done with it.

Efforts there as it HAS been for almost the entire year. This group gives a more consistent effort than any flyer team I've seen

A coaching change will not help them bury their opportunities

Im keeping G another year and I'm banking on him rebounding slightly because I believe he's dealing with something a bit more than just the linear regression he's been on the past 4 years. I don't think honk his trade value could be any worse come this time next year. A trade of G isn't going to land us a new 1C

That is exactly it. Provy arms went up, play was stopped, horn guy, sitting way up in the third level or wherever he is, sounds the horn.

What's everyone's read on how Hak has been using the goalies of late? Neuvy's been decent, but not getting the wins, but Hak has not given the net back to Mase at all. Just trying to get one guy hot or does it mean Mase won't get the net again except for the odd start? To me, I think that one of them stays and splits time with Stollie next year. Not sure who.

Oh it was totally messed up but I've seen it happen other times the light goes on, celebrration happens and then they find out it wasn't a goal. It don't happen often and that's about the first time I can recall in the WFC that it happened in a long time.

I agree, time to see if Stolie can be the future. Might as well save cap and give Mase or Neuvy an inexpensive one year deal and tell them take it or leave it. Kid looked great when he was called up. Has he been good since he went back down?

I think he lost confidence in Mase when his two starts after the AS break were poor.

It's also possible Neuvirth is being showcased for a trade.

I think Stolarz gets protected, but I would not rule out Lyon (who is exempt form the ED) getting ahead of him on the depth chart. Right now Lyon is getting the majority of the starts, and I would think whoever is the Phantoms playoff goalie would have the edge when it comes to being the Flyersbackup next season.

They are both RFAs needing new contracts, so how they get paid this summer might offer a clue on who the Flyers think is the better goalie prospect.

I thought they implemented lower cameras last year at the start of the playoffs for offsides.
