Dellow wrote an article on Faceoffs about the Leafs (theathletic).. mainly to do with LH/RH and what side of the ice you take the FO from.

Interesting info, not something I put a lot of thought into.

Explains a little bit the Smith thing, thought this was notable

Gauthier, who’s a questionable prospect at this point, may ultimately find that there isn’t a lot of room in the NHL for a left handed faceoff specialist because you’re at a real disadvantage on half of the ice.

Wouldn't be the same for a right handed faceoff specialist? Only useful on half the ice. Kind of a dumb statement.

Frank that.

Corrado was plucked off the waiver wire, and then for two years they stuck him in the press box.

If he isn't good enough to play for the Leafs, send him to the Marlies. If he gets claimed, the Leafs shouldn't care - he wasn't good enough to play for the big club.

I don't blame Corrado one bit for being upset - you only have so much of a window of opportunity in your career, and you aren't going to get better/maintain your skills if you haven't played a game in two years.

If Babcock hates him, fine - get rid of him. Give him a fresh start elsewhere - even if it is in the AHL.

Uhhh..they did dump him. He has his fresh start marlies.

Nobody wanted him on waivers

Yes, but it took them two years.

And people here are still calling him a whiner who needs to grow up.

Which kinda makes sitting him in the pressbox for two years look stupid, no?

I take the first two in a heartbeat.

Art Ross Count: 11-4.
Hart Count: 4-3.

- mykokes

Slightly unfair comparison, as the first two are retired/end of a long career, vs. two guys who still have good chances of winning a few more...

...but yeah, you are still correct.

He is a whiner. He’s a grown ass man. He needs to act like it. Don’t complain to the media then suck on the ice. He looks like a fool.

You’ll have to ask him if his ass prefers riding the bus or plane. And last year he would have taken a 90% paycut if he was sent down.

I really don’t see the big deal with what the leafs have done. The leafs and winning come first, not some fringe nhl’er

Because we have too many forwards and not enough defence.
- Atomic Wedgie

Komarov is the best defensive forward the Leafs have... I think he loss would be noticed quickly

Dont really see the net gain if there are mediocre D available

If you are that fringe NHLer, are you really going to sit by and watch your career go in the toilet?

Seriously, step back, take a deep breath, and try to think of it from Corrado's perspective.

99/100 young guys would rather play in the NHL than rot for two years in the NHL. It's better for your future pay cheques.

people always said he did better when crosby was out. i'm too lazy to look up the stats but i do recall people throwing them out there to support the theory so there may have been some truth to it.
