That may hold true for rentals but history shows that the team dealing 1 star player for a package of assets always loses the trade in the long run, teams never get fair value when dealing a star player, Quebec dealing Lindros being the one exception

leafs sure didn't give up anything of value acquiring kessel

but the flyers did get good value for carter and richards

Very true...the Kessel deal is tricky because it was all draft picks and Burke didn't figure one would be a lottery pick

Richards just fell off the face of the earth but even if he was still playing at the level he was before, Philly still would of made off like bandits...

Who did Philly take with the 1st they got from Columbus in the Carter deal? Too lazy to look...

And that pick turned into Seguin who I wouldn't trade head up for Kessel now. But it's a roll of the dice

Nothing will happen, Snow's keeping his privates & Sakic will rest his feet on the coffee table until a new position is awarded away from Gm job...

If Garth does anything, it needs to be for Tyler Johnson.

Eberle:
GP: 485
G: 150
A: 209
Pts: 366

Duchene:
GP: 548
G: 172
A: 241
Pts: 413

Duchene has played one more season. Not including this season Eberle has averaged 24 G/yr. and 31 A/yr. Add that average on for one extra season and you're at: 174G 240A= 414Pts.

Much rather trade Hamonic straight up for Eberle and not have to give up Barzal/Pullock and a 1st rounder. Plus Eberle has one extra year left on his contract. Obviously not on the same level as MD but much less risk if only giving up Hamonic and don't have to worry about him walking after next season.

Leafs need to trade Jvr + for some kind of top 4 defenseman .. this will help in any kind of playoff push .Leivo looks great ...When Marner comes back he can replace JVR . Matthews Hyman Nylander/ bozak Marner brown/ kadri leivo komorov/martin soshnikov smith/goat...

Sounds good. Landeskog + Steve Duchesne for Voracek, Couturier and a 2nd. Voracek would look great playing on Matt Duchene's wing in Colorado!

Eberle is 0.75 ppg...Duchene is 0.75ppg
But Eberle is a guy who only plays wing and the PP. Duchene who plays C and Wing, plays the PP and PK, who is also 63.1% on faceoffs this year, as well as a +8 Take away give away ratio to a -8 of Eberle.

Yeah I would rather prefer Eberle, jesus christ are you simple to prefer him over duchene bc Eberle has 1 extra year on his contract

Hahah I think he just meant he would rather Eberle because he would be cheaper to get, perhaps a straight swap of Hamonic for Eberle, whereas Duchene would take a lot more to get.

I think his whole point is that he prefers Eberle because he believes he would cost much less to acquire, the extra year is just a plus, as he also mentioned...

point is 6m for Eberle who at this point is a one trick pony being a Top 6 offensive fwd that brings nothing else but that.

Why move your best Dman for a guy who is pops up every year during free agency. Pay Oshie 6m if thats who you want to obtain.

Radulov at 6m on a long term deal is probably just as good

Not arguing whether or not Duchene is better, clearly he is....And at the same cap hit no less, but his point was Eberle would cost less assets and he's right which in turn proves that you're also right by saying Duchene is a better addition than Eberle

Exactly.... Duchesne. The only Duchesne that that played in the NHL was Steve Duchesne so that's who I thought you meant. You never once mentioned Matt DUCHENE If you were talking about Matt Duchene + Landeskog for Voracek, Couturier and a 2nd I would have to respectively decline that offer.

My fault. I misspelled his name. Matt Duchene is who I was talking about...so no it is.
