10 years ago today, Sabre/Sens brawl. Brayton Wilson from WGR did a nice piece on it here:

I think my favorite part of the whole thing was how determined Mair was to punch Spezza in the face. Ahhh, I guess you can't beat Lindy yelling. Man, Heater is an all time Sabre killer. Right up there with John LeClair.

That game was awesome.

Unfortunately, that fight may have saved Ottawa's season.

I was at Outback, I know, I know, for lunch last week with my mom, and holy poop the steak was awesome. It was amazingly crunchy on the outside and perfectly mid rare inside throughout. None of that rare on one part and well on another. It was maybe a skosh over seasoned, but otherwise, probably the best steak I've ever had at a chain, even gave Russell's a run for it's money.

Notice the article says the stuff contains substances that are bad for you, but don't say how much if the stuff is unhealthy, and doesn't say how much is in the food.

If you need to eat 350 cheeseburgers to equal a "deleterious" effect on humans, wtf is w the uproar?

That's under food. But it is good enough that it probably should get it's own category.

If you think about it eating meat is gross and kinda f-ed up. But until they get some legit meat substitutes I'm not going to think about it

Yeah, the one said 160 grams of processed meat. How often? A day? For how long? Years? I mean I love me some sausage, hee hee, but 160 grams is over a quarter pound. That's a lot of (frank)ing sausage to eat every day for years.

Coke or Pepsi, I forget which, had to change their formula because their caramel color had some carcinogen in it. But the rub was you had to drink a physically impossible amount for it to even reach levels that were bad for you. It was in the thousands of cans in like a day. And yet they still changed the formula.

I hadn't been there in years because the last few times the steaks were really bad, badly cooked, really poopty cuts. But my mom wanted to go there, and even bad steak is still pretty good. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Edit: A 1,000 cans a day to get the levels that showed an increased risk in rats. And they were forced to change...

Double edit: Balls, I accidentally quoted instead of edited.

It's super easy to take for granted that meat was once a living thing. We don't have to see it alive, we don't have to kill it ourselves. We just have to go pick out the best looking corpse at the grocery store and throw it on the grill

Theres a whole philosophy regarding why its called "poultry, beef," etc. vs. cow, chicken (even though chicken is more common now a days) supposedly so that children didnt connect the dots that they were eating something that was once alive.
Regardless, we'll probably have lab grown meet in a couple years.
