He should be. We need the cap and he doesn't fill a role we need. Sundqvist is perfectly fine 5C/4C when someone is hurt. Sundqvist might even be better than fehr.
In an ideal world we will be able to ship fehr out for the depth D we need and not sacrifice any futures.

Why are people still talking about the Stars as a destination for Fleury? Aren't they pretty much out of the playoff race at this point? - YouMeAndDupuis9
That and Niemi is just as good. |

He basically said some guys have moved in front of him on the depth chart. Said this hasn't been the fairest situation for him because he was signed as a center and wing isn't his best position.
Doesn't sound like he's all that committed to him at this point.

I'm actually a supporter of going after Mike Green. It may cost a 1st, but I'd be ok with it if the wings retained some salary.
Even though the stars may miss the playoffs, fleury still has 2 years left. If Dallas really thinks he would be an upgrade, then it makes sense for them to trade for him no matter the outcome of this season. Fleury for niemi and a 2nd maybe? |

I will retain 25% on Green for a 1st, Sundqvist, and Pouliot. |

Wouldn't even do that for just a first. Green is nothing but a power play specialist. And even then he's not what he once was. He wouldn't even be used on the pp in Pitt |

25% retained would make it $4.5M ($6M) |

Throw in a 3rd and I will also take Fehr off your hands to free up some more cap for you. |

Mike Green might fit the Pens style but Id rather not...
I think Fleury for Niemi and Odouya or Sharp with half of their salary retained would be a shrewd move for both teams. |

I suppose bringing up Polliot is out of the question. Why would anyone want to break the Penguins ongoing streak of wrecking high draft choice defensemen with their inept developmental methods. |

If you're giving up a 1st, then you might as well go for Shattenkirk. I know Green is still under contract, but Shattenkirk >>>>> Green. |
