And not matter what stats I see the biggest worry I have is the Giroux situation. If he can't recover or turn it around, not just this year but next, we need a center big time.

And we need to move that cap hit if he is Vinny 2.0

He's a square peg in a round hole. 3/4 liner on a good team at best.

The only bar that Dale Weise had to clear this season was to be better than Ryan White....

White has more points than Weise. But so does VdV. VdV is not a better player than Weise. We had the same problem with White last season that we've had with VdV in his three years in Philly - the team gets significantly outscored when they are on the ice.

I think the fact he's producing at a better rate 5 on 5 than Giroux is more ridiculous. than Raffl having 11 total points with zero PP time.

But I would not be averse to trading him to Arizona for a rental like Hanzal. That would let the Flyers protect Laughton and Cousins in the expansion draft.

Why on earth would we trade for a rental? Raffl isn't the second coming, but he's a cheap, under contract, versatile guy who can play wherever in the lineup, and we hve a bottom 6 problem. We shouldn't get 10 feet near rentals right now. Trade assets to win a few meaningless games to pick lower?

Some good points. I just don't buy that the whole team is slumping at once at 5v5. There's a lot more talent on this roster than some believe.

The Flyers expected fenwick shooting percentage is 3rd from last in the NHL, so is it really that surprising when their actual shooting percentage is also 3rd from last?

The Flyers also have the farthest average shot distance in the entire NHL.

Right now it looks bad. but he can turn it around. Also if they move on from some guys he can still be a veteran presence and the deal isn't crippling.

Yeah.

I wouldn't want any one year deals unless I am taking on a contract for the rest of the season to facilitate a trade and bring back a better asset.

I am looking for young vets, picks and prospects.

EVERY GM makes mistakes. Keith Allen made mistakes. why do you point out every bad move but gloss over the good moves?

Weise is pretty far down the line of my concerns with this team. He was signed as a player that can move up and down the line up and I still see that ability regardless of his terrible production so far.

Don't know what White was asking for but 2 years at 1.5 would have been MUCH better than Wiese. White was no star but he least he brought some attitude to this team. Wiese to this point has been a bad deal.

I wonder if Columbus will be aggressive at the deadline. They could probably use a depth defender and they might want to go for it since they are playing so well this year.

Not sure I would want picks but maybe I could pry Paul Bittner away from them. Big winger who isn't really producing in AHL. Could be a project guy but he's 6'4''. Had decent junior numbers.

I am not sure I want picks in a draft that is average to below average. I might like a project guy or one who just isn't developing where they are at this point.

White is one of the worst hockey players in the NHL. That our coaches loved him and on both special teams' units was enough reason for addition by subtraction.
