Ho Sang can't even spell the word "defense" and MDC, as you said, isn't worthy of a call-up. They need someone who can slot in on the 4th line and I don't think either of them fit the bill. Not to mention it's much better for their development to be playing big minutes in BPT instead of getting 7:00 TOI here.

We can always trade for Nino and put him back in that roll since it worked so well for him

I agree. I'm looking at it from the Isles side though. I'm fine if a deal cannot be made with Sakic. Go get someone else. Garth cannot fall for just one guy like with Stamkos.
- ses111

I have to imagine he's at least talked to Yzerman about Johnson. I'm sure priority #1 is Duchene, but having Johnson as a fallback option would be a good move. I really like the fact that he's a RH shot and can eventually be moved to wing if/when Barzal gives them no option.

I agree. Sakic needs to come back to Earth. Garth has to look at Plan B. He needs to do his homework and find another player that can help.
- ses111

Sakic has a slew of offers on his desk from numerous teams for both Landy and Duchene at this point and there's no need for him to lower his asking price right now. He has time and if he truly wants to trade one or both of these guys he's either going to get what he wants from someone out there or he will have to look at his offers and make the decision if it makes sense to pull the trigger.
We will find out soon enough which way this goes.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

I would hope Garth talked to Stevie Y. You are killing me with Johnson chief. I'm trying to forget the guy.

Again I agree everyone should be available for a trade no matter who they are. No one should be safe. In that case players will play harder and want to stay. For me one guy like Nelson can be traded. Very streaky player takes stupid penalties and his defensive play has been lacking. Also with all these prospects they all can not play on this team there is no room for them. I say lets get something done and enough of GArths little babies and move forward. This team has been stuck in neutral for way to long

thats more like strome although hes really picked it up. showed his stats 11 points in 11 games as opposed to like 15 in 44 with cappy

True but I think Strome has a lot more potential then Nelson. I have seen a big difference ever since Weight has taken over. IT is like he is a new player. I give him one year under a new coach to see what he is mage of. Nelson I hardly even hear his name anymore

True but that is Garth. When the deal for Duchense falls through he will trade a pick for some guy who he thinks has a little upside

The thing is...Sakic doesn't need to come back to earth. He can put his feet up and tell everyone that the price is the price, take it or leave it. Duchene has plenty of term left, isn't a problem, and is a really, really good player. He's under no pressure to move him. If he caves on Duchene's price he should be fired on the spot.

Sounds like Clutterbuck may skate tomorrow. Cizikas could be longer term. No official word from #Isles until AM skate tomorrow.

He shoulda been fired on the spot the minute Vanek left for less money after giving up a first etc.

Might fall somewhere between $5M and $5.5M, but I wouldn't go too much higher on him.

Strome has passion and also has skill. Nelson is a softy and has very little drive.

Strome can, and should, be better than Nelson but I don't know if I'm ready to say that yet. He's looked really good since Weight took over and he definitely plays with a little edge to his game, but until he produces like Nelson over a long period of time...I'm not ready to say that he's better yet.

I think it matters on the term where the $$ is. But we are aligned on what he will get.

Thing is on The Isles and away from his buddies that formed that incredible line is he the same player point wise?
