Halak wants to be "The Guy." He wasn't the guy when Greiss outperformed him last year. Again, his history shows this and why he's moved a lot.

I'm pretty sure he would rather be a backup in the NHL then a starter in the AHL. Bottom line he is better then Berube thus should be the backup. It's really not a debate

How do you know that? He's playing more often in the AHL compared to playing in the NHL, right? If you play more, you'll be happy.

I hope these guys aren't feeding us BS and really do hire a true experienced person for that role, however honestly until it happens I'm not holding my breath.

I was talking to one of my buddies about Weight. I think before becoming the coach he has his heart set on an upper management position. If they fire Snow at some point I hope the keep Weight in some capacity. He is a good hockey mind and has seemed to connect with the players. If not coaching maybe keep his assistant GM title or something along those lines?

Still supposed to be professional about the whole situation. Maybe he didn't like taking a backseat to Greiss like he had to for Price and Elliot.
- bgainesDM

He was professional for a year and they said it would be resolved in the off season and it wasn't. Garf's an obnoxious, stubborn ass and if he gets called out on something or gets push back he takes his ball and goes home imho.
This team isn't taking the next step with him running the show.

If he was a professional then why did he say that he complained about the situation and said it wouldn't work? Again, why didn't Greiss or Berube(who by the way, shares the same agent as Halak) say that?

I think your right, I really don't think he wanted the coaching job but jumped in when he was needed. He may not even want the job next year.

You're right a guy who has been in the NHL for the last 10 years would rather play in the AHL because he plays more. That's fair when you're talking about a borderline NHL'er at the end of his career. I can't imagine he is happy right now but I guess he could be because after playing that night he gets to ride on bus for 6 hours before getting some rest at the plush Motel 8 in east bumblefack USA

Probably because Berube is an unproven rookie and Griess is finally getting a starting gig at 30 yrs old. The latter two don't really have a leg to stand on IMO. Halak is a seasoned pro and thus maybe feels he has the right to speak up. 3 goalies is a joke and that's why nobody outside of Snow tries it

Wow I'm glad I took nap sweet God, the only thing that's 100% correct is mdw loves a hairy sack in his face. As for Bailey, while he's not the long term solution he is working great at the moment. I posted the line is 4th in corsie in the league and it looks that way when they are on the ice. He's made several passes that are jt like and creates space for jt as he can pass and set up. Not buying it? He has the most primary assists on the team so it's not him to jt to Lee, he's doing the set up. I think this allows jt more space to do his thing and a guy to help carry and work the puck in the zone. As stated before duchene helps for the next few years and the team can work on adding in the off-season. If we have to part with pulock then we do, gotta give to get and he has been hurt which is a concern.

Anybody else want to throw up when they watch Nino finally turning into the player the isles thought they had when they drafted him before Snow got his feelings hurt and dumped him for a bottom 6 grinder. Just like Halak should be the backup over Berube right now. Instead because Snow was once again called out on his BS he gets his feeliing hurt and now we don't ice the best possible team because of it. I've come to the conclusion he will be back at least to start the season but man I can't wait until they get rid of this clown
- Vukota

You just knew the Isles would frank up Nino when they played him on that 4th line all year.

He has admitted its been much more fun coaching then he thought. I'm guessing with a family and young kids he probably doesn't want to travel again like his playing days. Probably tough on the family. Going to be interesting for sure what happens this summer

Again he dealt with it for a year and it was to be resolved in the off season and it wasn't. There isn't a team that carries 3 goalies on the roster in the NHL and its for a reason. Goalies don't like it and it takes away a roster spot.
If you think that Snow is not to blame for the 3 goalie circus and then the subsequent erosion of Halak's game play then thats your opinion but I think your totally wrong.
Bottom line is everybody said it is dumb and Garth out of his own mouth said we will keep as many goalies as we want, Dumb Ass that he is.
Also its pretty funny that C Botta commented that in Garth's playing days if he was involved in a 3 goalie circus he would have female doged and moaned louder than anyone.

I'm not a big Halak fan, but the 3 goalies should have been resolved to start the season. You cannot move Halak then Berube needed to go.

He does seem to want management more than coaching Vukota. Hopefully they do keep Weight on in some capacity.

I think Snow was trying to see if Halak would gain any value playing in the world cup. I mean, that's what I would've done. I really think he wanted to do whatever it took to get that 4.5 mil contract(which was a good contract at the time) off the books. But despite that, nobody would trade for him or at least claim him off of waivers. I just don't think Halak likes taking a backseat to others whether it's NHL, AHL, KHL, WCH, whatever. Just going by his history.

But so has Duchene. He's dealt with concussions.

Well, I just don't agree. No biggie. I don't want Duchene(I'd rather go for Tyler Johnson), and I want d-man buffering as well. Can't we have both? B-)

Was Lee in the lineup when Vanek played with JT? Nope. The Bailey - JT - Lee experiment didn't begin until the 2nd half of the 2014-15 season, which btw is where JT put up his best numbers during that stretch. We thought that getting Ladd would be an instant plug in line 1 but turns out he plays better in the 3rd line.
2nd of all, JT didn't make Cory Conacher a star.
