I dont really get your point? Are you saying the isles should now trade for a PKer? - kindlyrick
I think since Tavares has gone on the PK we have been alot better. Granted they have given up some goals but last night goal I mean it was off the linesman skate right to Vanek. I mean a lot of bad bounces too. God I sound like Crappy
Our PP is another story. IT is horrible. We had a 4 minute power play last night and we did not even set up once. That is bad and could have turned the whole game around. I am just thankful that Detroit was already in vacation mode |

Agreed but for sake of dicusssion, i like Tylers game......i just dont think he's gonna come cheap either. If im going to go out and pay up its going to be for the more gifted player. - kindlyrick
Duchene would want over 8 mil when his contract ends. If I'm the GM, I'm not paying him that much. |

That is why you are not a GM. I dont worry about that until the time comes. Tavares is our number one priority right now |

No. I'm just saying you think the PK will be fine when I doubt it right now even if Clutterbuck comes back. I do think defense needs to be no. 1 priority btw ;-) - bgainesDM
Clutter and CC when back and healthy are perfect PKers. Im not sure what you're suggesting as far as D goes with respect to the PP. Are you saying not to trade Pulock for his PK ability? To me, the number one priority should be to get JT a winger. If it means Landeskog over Duchene (2nd line center) then do it. |

We were 1/3 on the PP so that's 33.33%. We had a penalty that negated the other 2 min on that PP.
Detroit also beat Washington and Pittsburgh back-to-back. There's no such thing as an "easy game" these days. |

The cold hard truth is that Weight has had control of the PP for 5 years, and its not been any great shakes. |

You think Yzerman is going to give up Johnson for much less than Duchene? It may be a bit less, but as i said before if im paying up, im doing so for the more gifted player. - kindlyrick
I think Yzerman has astronomically more pressure to move Johnson than Sakic does to move Duchene. He has to re-sign Drouin and Palat. |

And ruin the chemistry he's having with Lee and Bailey? Unless Lee is being traded, he's not moving out of that line for anybody. Landeskog is who I would want over Duchene because of the contract. |

That's the worst strategy possible. Not planning for the future is how you end up losing really talented guys. |

Agreed and its also pretty obvious what the isles needs are. Its no secret around the league that Bailey is not the first line RW that JT deserves. |

Unless Duchene really picks up his game, I'm not giving him close to 8 Mill. |

Yup, Tampa "has" to do something, they are cap screwed. I don't know if Johnson is the odd man out, but they are (frank)ed.
Colorado doesn't need to do Richard. |

Funny I was basing that comment on Dan saying that Toews was bports best dman this season. - kindlyrick
I think he said that earlier in the year when RP was injured and wasn't playing. But since his return RP has been tearing it up. That's not to lessen the way Toews has played this year as he has certainly open a lot of peoples eyes the ways he has played this season. |

Sidney Crosby played just fine in the playoffs with rookie Connor Sheary as his RW. Chemistry > Talent |

Look, anyone who's played with JT, from Moulson, to KO, to now Bailey have good years. Its not them its Tavares. When Snow brought in Vanek and finally admitted the need for top end talent, that line was the hottest in hockey. Imagine what a legit talent like Landeskog would do for JT?? I dont think the first line is chemistry as it is JT making everyone around him better. |

I would package Barzal in a second. He isn't even that good. The guy played the puck while he was still in the penalty box for christ sakes. |

Again, top end player in the league making others around him better. By your rationale the isles were just fine with Moulson and KO...... |

My point wasnt really to compare the two of them, it was more to say getting rid of Pulock isnt going to set the team back with Toews' play. |

Is the top line not producing now? Are Lee and Bailey going to break 50 points this year with Bailiey potentially reaching 55-60?
Both answers are yes.
Why mess with that chemistry right now when the middle six need the most buffering as well as the defense? Nelson's had quite the cold streak. May want to address that. |
