I actually like the Avs D.
Zads - Wiercoch - Barberio - Bigras on the left side.
Barrie - Johnson on the right side.
Maybe they can snatch up another right side guy from CAR and shoot Beauchemin to the moon. - Feds91Stammer
Barberio and Nieto I thought were good pick ups. I would say they should trade Beauchemin but who would fill in his spot with injuries? |

they should sell. Its been something I have wanted the Canucks to do since 2012 but have had zero luck. I still think they should keep Duchene. He is so much better than Landeskog it's not even funny. Stay firm on the asking price for Landeskog and build around Duchene. |

Not a troll post, so please no backlash. But you have to sit back and start evaluating your management. Not the be-all-end-all of anything, but you look at the prospects in the Avs organization, and who outside of Jost stands out? Rantanen will be a good player for you guys, so will Jost, but its pretty thing thereafter. Some questionable roster moves for rentals and you have to think that maybe the problem stems back to the GM... - Codes1087
Colorado has a good amount of quality prospects, they aren't all blue chippers like Jost but guys like Greer, Compher, Bigras and Martin are all looking very promising, and are going to go a long way in improving the Avs depth which is clearly the biggest issue with the team.
I don't really see trading for Boedker as a huge detriment to the team last year, sure we're probably going to regret it in 3-4 years when Wood maybe lives up to his potential and becomes a top 4 Dman.
We needed a top 6 forward and got one for relatively cheap, sure he didn't help us improve in certain areas that definitely needed improving but Colorado was a playoff team last year until the last 10 games of the season when they lost both Duchene and Mackinnon at the end of the year and really fell off.
we've got a lack of depth right now in large part due to the Sherman era where every 2nd first round pick ended up being a bust ( RIP Hishon/Bleackley) as well as mostly not drafting very well in the deeper rounds, losing Stastny for nothing hurt a lot and trading O'Reilly created a hole, I like the pieces we got but it was a move that set us back a couple of years but i'm liking all of the pieces we got out of it.
Sakic/ management is not the problem, have patience and enjoy hanging on to borderline mediocrity under Jim"throw in a a 2nd"Benning. |

I have bought into the fact that we are still 3 or 4 years away from competing, it would be foolish for me to think otherwise. Had we torn it down properly in 2012/13 like we should have, maybe we would be further ahead, but its out of my hands. Benning has been awful with including picks in his trades, but his trades have not been awful. Sutter has been mediocre at best, Granlund trade has been great, Gudbranson has been hurt, and we have 4 players in the top 40 (who aren't currently in the nhl) on Buttons recent list. Its a slow process, but patience is definitely key, no need for the hostility friend I am not trying to piss you off.

And David Pastrnak and Nik Ehlers would be an insane upgrade over drafting Virtanen right now as well? Are you really that sensitive? With the Johnson injury, and now Zadorov, is it really unfair to say that Wood would be nice to have right now? I am not trolling, and pride myself on the fact that I don't troll. I try and engage with hockey talk from all fanbases. Regardless, I apologize if it came across that way, but it was not my intent.
As far as Wood's skating, the Canucks can attest to this as well. We have had multiple multiple prospects be deemded project players due to poor skating, but they have completely had 180's when gone to pro/AHL. I think players have more to gain in their development in the pro's than they do in junior, would you agree? - Codes1087
Its just a stupid thing to say. A guy the Avs traded who is projected to be a fringe NHLer, even though is having a good offensive season in the AHL as a rookie, isnt the answer
Avs need Top 4 Dmen, not a guy who is going to play 10 mins a night in the NHL if he ever makes it based on his inability to actually skate. He can't skate in the AHL but he isnt being exposed by a stronger talent pool which the NHL would have.
If you dont see how its a dumb thing to say then you are trolling and looking for attention, not talking hockey |

lol Coga you sure can dish it in the other Canadian market threads but sure have a hard time taking it. I have already apologized for offending you, it was not my intent, but I still stand by my statement, its too bad Wood wasn't with you guys because I would think he would probably be getting a call right now, hindsight is 20/20 though. Anyway, moving on... |

The rivalry with Detroit died down a long, long time ago.
Once Bertuzzi left Vancouver, that kind of evaporated as well. I just hate the Wild now. I don't care who wins the cup, just not them. |

I can take it with the best of them, but when I am calling you out for a dumb thing to say, and 90% of the people on her are agreeing with it, you might have to agree with it and stop defending the idea.
Not offending, just calling it how it is. If Kyle Wood was with the rampage, he would be in the ECHL right now bc he would be getting torched every night, hes not excelling bc hes an AHL gift from God, hes putting up points being on a good development team, with a pretty solid AHL D core and not the last place Rampage |

it makes sense. Other teams see what he can do (rookie year) and see he is having a sophomore slump year (buy low) and are going after a young D man with potentional who is protected. Makes sense for 29 other teams. |
