Tough job. Pretty much a farm team for the rich clubs. Had to be pretty creative and still had us in the playoff mix most years. Even won a couple rounds against some juggernauts.

I'll give him credit for swindling Pronger out of St.Louis. Other than that he did nothing of note, unless you count a cinderella run in 2006. Unless you count Shawn Horcoffs contract as something to be proud of.

We took out Dallas and Colorado in different seasons.
And that's when they were pretty much dynasty teams. Dallas only won 1 cup, but they were elite for about 3-4 years. The avs were all time for almost a decade.

I just said I credit him with swindling Pronger out of St.Lou. Beyond that? Cmon, they snuck in on the 81st game of the year and Roli got hot. Then imploded the next year without Pronger.

The reality is he put together some hard working teams pre-cap that had some limited success and even enticed a couple bigger names into town. Beyond that he did nothing that would qualify his work as great. He also saddled the team with some crippling deals that made a rebuild harder, and everyone knows damn well he was still meddling even after he left the GM position.
