Lol ohhhh... Well they have movies on there that are still in the theatre, but I haven't clicked on any of those... I've only watched The Conjuring 2 and The Purge: Election Year, and both of those were 1080

I was disappointed with the Purge Election... I heard The Conjuring 2 was scary as (frank).

Smid was our best d-man at the time and getting rid of him was a head scratcher. Maybe if we had eomployed some actual NHL d-men we wouldn't have ruined Jultz.
- Reveen.

Wow. Smid was awful always. Out of position flopping around and of course the patented 3 cross checks after the whistle. Completely incapable of clearing the front of the net.

Jultz wasn't ruined. Misused more like it.

Strange how he is being utilized properly by a good team and is thriving.

Yeah, it was pretty good. I watched a Youtube video after of the actual girl who was supposed to be possessed, and it seemed like she was completely full of sh1t. The voice she made was impressive, but she'd laugh after she did it. They have a photo of her where they caught her levitating, but it just looks like she jumped off of the bed.

Not quite. But when he has to block a ton of shots it's very much related to his inability to move the puck out of the zone. If a defender fails to move the puck out or turns it over by sending the puck out around the boards onto the stick of an attacking player, then the play continues back towards the Oiler net.

It's not a good thing that he has to block so many shots. Same willingness to block shots but on a player who can also move the puck to a forward would be fantastic.

- Matt_Henderson

So how does Russel compare with the other defenders statistically when it comes to turnovers?

As we would have as well if we didnt have Fayne, Nikitin,Ferrence a young ass Nurse and injured Klefbom as the only other poopty options. Too many mungers on these threads just wanted him gone without acknowledging the real issue at hand.

I was pretty much the lone wolf on these threads that didnt scape goat him.

I wanted him gone only because I knew his confidence was shattered in Edmonton.

Klefbomb leads the team by a country mile in mistakes made by any player on the team. Major mistakes too. Hendo will never blog about this unicorn stat because Klefbomb is pretty and he doesn't hate him like he hates Russell.

Interesting.

Karlsson, Hjalmarsson, Ristolainen, Giordano, Provorov, Weber, Pietrangelo.

What do they all have in common? They are all top 10 in blocking shots in the NHL. I would assume that they are also terrible at moving the puck out of their own zone.

- TheTaoOfSemenko

Exactly right. They are all terrible and only block shots because of how they play. Has nothing to do with the other 5 skaters on the ice, they never make mistakes or do anything that would make a defender have to block shots.

If you block a shot it is because you can't make a break out pass....according to what fantasy stats say as opposed to actually watching a game and using those stats in context.

Ok so isnt there a stat that records how many give aways you have? I'll buy that a D man sucks if he leads that stat as well as blocked shots. If you dont give the puck away then isnt blocking shots a good thing?

I guess these fancy boys and their stats hate Jason Smith too?

I am sure there has to be a fantasy stat that quantifies that. All I know is that someone wrote an article about Russell for a legitimate news source a week or so back and used some fantasy stats to show mistakes made by players in a game. Perhaps that was a giveaway or play that led to a giveaway and not a surprise but Klefbomb was the huge leader in this stat.

I watch as many Oiler games as I can.

I don't respect your opinion either, so call this a wash.

Don't worry about him. Sekera also said Russell is a good player in the intermission, and he watches all the games from a better seat than any of us get.
