They're a damn good team. Definitely Cup worthy despite their history of quick playoff exits.

Though he has been moved down to the 3rd, I hope Hossa is a proud mentor, having recommended the kid and, now, watching him thrive here (vs. his previous stints in the NHL).

Heck of a good 2nd period for the Hawks. Dominated for long stretches and won a ton of puck races/battles. If not for some icing giving the Wild some zone time and momentum, it would have been excellent. Should be a battle here in the 3rd.

Schmlatz looks great, And we need other people to score other then panik. He is a RFA after the year. I think what we have done to Teows the last year and 1/2 I would not trade for any guy that can only play on 1 line. If he is guy that can bring some scoring or something to the 3rd or 4th line I'm fine with it. Maybe Hanzel or Tatar but you have to pay accordingly. If we do add a FR I will feel bad for either Kero or Moose or Hino they would not deserve to be sent down or press box.

Not counting chickens before they hatch cuz there's 20 minutes left to play ... but the boys are playing very well tonight. That second period reminded me of the Saad-Toews-Hossa line a couple years ago. If Kaner elevates the puck another inch it's 3-1. And this isn't Buffalo - this is against a very good Wild team.

Schmaltz has been playing better and isn't hurting the Toews line by any measure but he still isn't putting the puck in the net, mostly because he still looks for the pass before looking for the shot. If he can bury a couple and pick up his confidence he will complete that line and maybe we don't need a top-6 LW ... maybe ... not totally sold yet but they have been playing better and Toews and Panik have been scoring.

Yes, they do seem to relax when they go up by 2. They have been very good defensively tonight. Q wasn't happy with the d zone in buffalo. Looks like they've tightened it up.
