Forwards aren't the issue. Keep them pretty much the same, bc getting rid of Moulson, Ennis, etc. just isn't very likely

FOCUS on the defense
Optimally...
1) re-sign Kulikov for the 3rd Pair with Bogo (can't have them on pair2 with their injuries & inconsistent play, but I like their talent & upside still)
2) try to trade with teams being screwed by the expansion draft, for TWO guys that can play in the top4 (look at UFAs like Alzner, Russell, etc if we must)
That gives us a defense that looks something like:
Top pair... McCabe-Ristolainen
Pair2... trade/ufa - trade/ufa
Pair3... Kulikov-Bogosian
7th... Gorges (if we can't get rid of him) or Faulk
*this keep us in solid shape if/when we have injuries, and if our 3rd pair can be healthy & play to potential we could have a really good defense

For Rochester:
1) Guhle... yes, bring him along slowly. No rush if we can do the above
2) Borgen... get him into the system
3) bring back Mike Weber... need someone to teach the kids. He'd fit well
4) re-sign Fedun... he's been decent
5) continue developing Nelson
6) offer Philly a low round pick to bring back Tj Brennan
*for the first time in forever, that would give Rochester a really solid defense to support the growth of our young forwards


IMO, we have been neglecting defense at ALL levels in this organization for FAR too long... and that's why we are in the position we are in

These move can turn it around pretty quick...
and FINALLY get us going in the right direction

He's not exactly known for shutting guys down
More of an offensive puck mover
So he's not a good fit as a partner for Risto
I think he needs a stay-at-home type so he can skate w the puck more
