Yeah so was I............... I was at the San Jose/Sabres game right after they aquired him. He walked out early onto the ice (where I had seats) and I had a chance to talk to him for a few minutes prior to their pre-skate. He was truly pumped to be out of Vancouver and with the Sabres, he was simply beaming about it.

Sad it didn't work out ............ oh well he's 26 and rich. Never has to work a day in his life again if he chooses not to.

Would just like to ask everyone who thinks Kane is easily replaceable to name me four guys that play the same style, big body with amazing speed and can clearly put the puck in the net and is tough as hell. OK now tell me what we have to give up to get said player if we even can. I know people want to sell high on Kane, in theory it makes sense, but you also cant ignore how effective he has been since he got healthy, he seems to have just "shut up" and is playing great hockey.

Believe it or not, Ek's blog today makes a great point regarding Vegas.

The trade deadline is meaningless for them. They can already do trades if they want to, and the trade deadline doesn't mean you can't do trades, it only means the player you acquire can't play in the playoffs. Vegas won't be in the playoffs, anyway.

So expect to see "protection" oriented trades with Vegas all through the season, right up to the draft.

It's not even a case of who will replace him. It's a case of how good is this team with him playing the way he is?

The answer - Not good enough because our blue line is a garbage fire.

Kane isn't the issue right now, he's actually a potential solution to a very big need.
