Who said I was jumping ship? I am just sick of the half hearted efforts they are and have been giving for the last couple seasons. The NHL is a grind. If you can't keep up to the grind? Just retire then. I 've been a hardcore fan for 25 years and have never quit on my boys. Even during the Messier fiasco. i am not quiting on them now. I am just taking a leave of absence.
- Itsjustarash

I took a 3 year leave of absence starting 09-10 season for the same reason. I missed the cup run but had enough of watching players not push back, involve players on ice seldomly, the terrible line changes they have done all career.
Now I usually switch channels whenever they are on the ice.

Well I wasnt being serious (I wouldve done Tanev+ to acquire Drouin), but I really think that Hall has a significantly greater impact on a game than Schenn but that Larsson and Tanev are not too different. One more a little more older and defensively sound, the other more offensive contributions.

I really dont think there is a deal to be had between Vancouver and Philly. Schenn is slightly on the older side for a rebuilding/tooling team, and the cost to aquire him from Vancouver's side would be more than the team could afford to give up as it currently doesnt have the depth to replace anymore holes. Tanev should be traded to acquire multiple pieces to help the process, and Philly isnt giving up those pieces

Larsson also has more hits and a better career high in points than Tanev so I still don't follow. Schenn scores less than Hall but his hits/fights close that gap a bit, no?

I'm open to a deal here, but let's be reasonable.

- Nucker101

Schenn + 2017 1st for Tanev + 2017 3rd.

I'm about to lose interest because I'm tired of them (ownership & management) not building the way I'd like to see them build. They can't continue like this, not building through the draft, and continually try for the last playoff spot.

We'll see what happens this spring. I've been a fan for 40 years, and will continue to be, but occasionally I've become disinterested throughout their history because of poor management

Why not? Schenn is a proven 20 goal scorer, fights, throws hits, is in his prime. Tanev doesn't hit, doesn't stand up for teammates and provides little offense. Explain why it's such a bad trade?

I like this trade.

I have never been pro-tank or blow it all up like you have suggested at times, but management/ownership has to get realistic here. This is a very untalented franchise with some prospects in cupboard that have potential, but not nearly enough.
I have no problem fighting for a playoff spot, but that fight should only go on for so long. Trading a player or 2 now can be beneficial in so many ways for the future of this team.
Picks/prospects and calling up from minors gives us a better chance to see what we have moving forward.
I still cheer for wins no matter what. Always faithful.

Jim Benning's first year I was really excited, because of Ryan Kesler wanting out, and trading Garrison, he acquired two first, second and third round picks. I thought that was the beginning of the man who wanted to build through the draft. I was wrong...sadly.

Of those picks we only have Jake Virtanen, who's in the American Hockey League and struggling, Thatcher Demko, Nikita Tryamkin and Derek Dorsett. Which isn't the worst, I guess, but it could've been the start of a really good foundation built through the draft.

I'll take a shot at possible line up for your above ideas.
Hansen traded for value only. Burrows for a 2nd or 3rd.
BB & Gaudette sign & Sven is healthy.

I'm not so sure. I think Linden is downplaying it while also providing some motivation to him. NCAA players are physically more prepared than their CHL counterparts, playing against older guys and being on rigorous gym schedules throughout the year. I think if the season continues this way there is a good chance he leaves now while there are opportunities.

That being said, another year definitely wouldnt hurt him. I'd like to see what hes got against pro's though

First year of JB and company they had 101 points made the playoffs. One year after everyone wanted the team blown up. Everyone wanted younger and faster. The team has got younger and faster, the team now sucks. certain people have got what they thought this team needed. it hasn't worked. If Van is going to change in a night they need a generational talent.

I hope you are right. He has nothing left to prove in the NCAA and it would be great to see how he fares in Utica.

He put up better numbers in NCAA than Cagguila (without the supporting cast), I gotta imagine that (and how other NCAA grads are doing) is in his mind when he thinks about his future. I wouldnt throw him into the NHL, but let him force the team to call him up while he gets used to the pro game a bit

If he ain't ready, he's not ready.

Him making the team next season was an extremely unrealistic expectation anyways.
At Boeser's current rate, we might want to temper our 'top six' vision for him as well.

In contrast to popular belief, the prospect cupboards are still pretty darn bare.

If Cassels was ready for 4th line duty in the NHL this year surely Gaudette will be.

NYR is a bare cupboard & we r fine.
Once the NCAA season ends we make a big jump on the prospect pool.
JV Demko BB Gaudette & OJ in OHL PO's or longer.
Thats a far cry from bare bro

Corey pronman and bob Mckenzie have said that Van has a pretty good prospect pool.

I think all fan bases overstate their prospect pool, yes even us, despite popular belief, the Canucks have but two bluechippers. So yes, I'd say the cupboards are still pretty lean.

No it's not , don't you know the Sky is always falling in Canuckville.

Every year we should draft 7 players .Four should make the Canucks that year and the other 3 Play for Utica
