well he scored 3 points, so he had a good game
the games he scores 0 points, he has a bad game - YuenglingJagr
All you can say really is that Hak's scratchings lit a fire under him, allowed him to "learn from upstairs," and that Ghost has finally made an adjustment |

He wasn't scratched to learn. He was scratched because he needs to rest if he's going to anchor our top pair for the home stretch towards the playoffs. |

Can't imagine him playing better than he already is. I'm starting to think he was actually scratched just to show Ghost how to take proper notes from the press box. |

Actually, for Ghost, this is pretty accurate. |

Bill,
Good blog. Disagree on the second Vancouver goal though. You pinned the whole blame on Ghost, but he was only partially responsible at most. The guys in front of the net (Bellemare and MDZ) did not pick up the open men, which is textbook defending from a young age.
Ghost could have done more to break up the play before it got in front, but giving him all the blame is misguided here. It was a team defensive breakdown that he was a part of. |

Out of all the unwritten or at least never talked about rules, the goalie one is the most confusing. All of the rules to try to make the players available competitive and there is almost nothing I've found that prevents a team from signing any scrub.
The only measures that would prevent that are a) they'd have to stay on the team that signed them for a season and b) the NHL could possibly deem it a penalty and penalize the team.
It is almost a disadvantage to Vegas if they are forced to select 3 goalies under contract when the best deals could be available on a seemingly flooded FA market. - YuenglingJagr
Didn't I read that Vegas will have a chance to sign UFAs for 48 hours before the expansion draft (or something like that), and if they do, the team they signed him from his exempt from the draft? Maybe there will be a number of back-room deals worked out so that Vegas isn't forced to take the likes of Niemi.
I'm probably conflating several things I read, but I do believe Vegas can sign UFAs before other teams. |

Hakstol needs to bench Gostisbehere more often - Streit2ThePoint
He should retroactively bench him to the beginning of the season and see if it bumps his numbers up a bit.

There are zero reports of Giroux being shopped. It all just goes back to Carchidi giving his erudite opinion and people running with it. - Mononoke
Yup, I think the only guys being actively shopped are Schultz, Streit and MDZ. |

It cracks me up how beat writers like Carchidi completely over exaggerate situations such as the Manning/ McDavid situation. |
