Pittsburgh is going to tell him waive it or be bought out.
- dragonoffrost

Playing devils advocate here, why would he waive then? He could be bought out and sign where he feels he has a better chance at winning.

It is a matter of possibly staying on the Pens and also the total value of his contract. He could definitely sign another contract that ends up making more money, but we dont know where that will be (not too many teams are in the market for that type of goalie).

He could also be traded before he waives

He gets bought out this year and there's a bunch of FA goalies. Does he want to have to bargain with a team while all those guys are also available?

Ideally for Pittsburgh they find a trade partner for him before the draft so they don't lose him for nothing.

Weise and Couturier, too quick.

For the Canucks they were, yeah. Try watching the game instead of just staring sadly at the Luke Schenn posters on your walls and ceiling.

Personally I'm not a fan, but he has a better track record than any other ufa coming up. This being probably his last chance at a payday I don't see him waiving to go to vegas.

If he waives there are potentially still players available on the Pens I would rather have (in the completely unrealistic scenario that I was their GM)

Sean Couturier or Luke Schenn posters.

Is there really much of a difference?

This is the way I see it MAF's contract is almost looked at as AMac's here. It should really keep him from being taken by Vegas.

So the outdoor game is Saturday and the forecast for Pittsburgh most of the week is temps above 65 except today which is still in the 60's. Slow ice is probably a good bet for Saturday. Does that help or hurt the Flyers?

Fleury has what 1 more year on his deal? They are going to need a good goalie to help them out to start and his cap hit will help them hit the floor.

It's pretty sad that this is what's being discussed today. I'm sorry for continuing to post. Hari Kari to follow..

Marc-Andre Fleury will be a Vegas Golden Knight. Mark my keystrokes.

They will hit the floor easy without AMac or Fleury

With a stagnant cap they will need to spend and average of 2.35 Million per player to hit floor.

Just that one of those guys was dumped in LA because we had a better, faster, beardier version of him.
