Yes sir..

Funny thing.. 3 teams who were behind the Flyers that have made recent coaching changes (NYI,FLA, BOS) are now all ahead of them. Not blaming Hak but sometimes changes are needed to succeed weather in be in coaching or on ice product.
Hopefully our GM will start to make some changes at deadline then at least one MAJOR shakeup in the off season

I'm with you on that..

I believe though that Hexy has 1 more season like this in mind to give more of,the prospects to get here then he goes all in..

I would also argue those teams have more skilled depth on the roster even though they weren't playing like it.

Boston and NYI...more skill, I don't know. I think one of the main keys is their best players are playing like their best. Our 8M twins have not.

I've embraced the tank

The only games I want the Flyers to win the rest of the season are against Pittsburgh, New York Rangers, and Toronto on March 9th

Your correct too.

I think Voracek is looking better with Couturier.

This whole Giroux thing just really placed a spot light on his future and the future of the team. I knew he would decline but I didn't think he would go horsepoop over night.

Hakstol will be the coach for the rest of this season. And I think if they have another sub par season next year he will still be the coach. There's only so much you can do with garbage.

You think there's any chance Vegas drafts him to be their coach?

Hak will have gotten 2 full years with this group to evaluate. Hex has been quoted as they're basically making no ufa signings this summer. So the d is going to undergo a major organic change. They don't have enough good forwards but I can see a style swap if they want to make a player like schenn available. I would look hard at making simmonds available but they don't need to this summer. He'll have the same value next year

That would be my guess as well.

Hopefully, by 18-19, our D could look something like:

Provorov-Myers
Sanheim-Gudas
Morin-Ghost
AMac

This would assume that Hagg perhaps get traded for a forward and they would be stuck with a 5 million cap hit for their 7th Dman, but, since most of the top 6 will be on ELC's or bridge contracts, it's really not that big a deal.

Boston has a lot of experience and a better goalie. The Isles are a bit deeper, and, unless Giroux snaps out of his funk, they are more talented as well.

I also think Hakstol was brought in to oversee all the youth coming up. I am not saying Hakstol wasn't brought in to win with veterans but I think the main focus was to groom the prospects coming into the lineup.

If they have another subpar year next season, I think he will be replaced at the end of that season.

I wonder if Gostisbehere could be the odd man out. I love his dynamic play but with guys like Myers and Sanheim who both can bring offense but are bigger and have a better defensive game. I like Hagg's two way game. Also I think Provorov will continue to bring some offense.

But agree that I think one might be moved for a forward.

I am not sure. If they are subpar because guys like Giroux and some vets aren't producing but the youth is developing and playing well would they fire him?

I think they have to deal one for a forward . You deal from a position of strength.
I would still like to see a change in the core group ( not Simmonds) . Hey if Dion can get traded anyone can. He is now a 7M 3rd Dman playing for a team that is doing much better than the year before. A change of scenery can work wonders.
