Perhaps. I like Gibson. Bring in a $6MM backup? I suppose it's possible but very unlikely given his salary, his NTC and his desire not to move. The Canucks will likely eat part of Burrows cap hit as well.
- CanuckDon

Their backup right now is Bernier and you know money isn't the issue if they have the cap space which they do....Bring back salary is a part of making deals.

It's not like Polak got those 2 2nds alone it was the Torres salary coming back for example.

Would you rather lose Hansen for nothing? This year is different, it's also about the future.
- manvanfan

No why I didn't get your keep him until after expansion trade suggestion in original post. You have yet to answer how keeping him and Sbisa would work?

Anyway on trading his 8 team list will be interesting to try to move him. I believe he's the hottest trade commodity at the TDL.

The part where Benning isn't culpable if they don't end up making trades.... I'm sure it isn't as easy as I suggest but it's his job to get it done. I'm tired of excuses, real or imagined.
- belcherbd

I suspect he will make a trade. I'm merely illustrating the point that people that think we can trade Sbisa, Hansen, Miller and Burrows are (frank)ing insane and dilusional. This will be an incredibly difficult tdl. After last years inactivity, I suspect Benning will be the first to act. We have a 6% chance of the playoffs. If we lose tonight...they will be aggressive sellers I have no doubt. Just don't ignore 8 or 9 different variables that come into play when trying to move aging assets with NTC

LA and ANA. Those are the only markets that might be possible. Will Miller waive? Do they want an expensive backup? Will Quick be back? Can the teams negotiate a deal? It's not black and white BloatedBelcher

I suspect we will as well, but I'm not as confident as you and others that he has made it a priority either.

It's all well and good to say if we lose tonight he will start but if we win will he?

It's certainly not black and white or easy but it is his job.

Quick I don't think can return until March I believe and budaj has been okay for them, I doubt tgey would go for Miller.

Like I said earlier, if Miller wants another cozy year in van close to his wife and family then he should expand that list.

Van can only protect 3 D and have 4 that are worth protecting. Van needs to get rid of 1 D and 1 F to protect everyone. The same as most teams. When making a trade really have to consider whether or not the other team is willing to lose them in the expansion draft. Take a bad contract back and get a higher end pick or prospect or don't take one back and get a lower pick it seems.

This makes sense

Miller has to provide 5 teams. I think Kings and Ducks will be on it. Getting a deal done is another issue. I see where you are going on likelihood of trades but check out my breakdown post on previous page.

You are far better off having Miller leading into demko than marky

He's a better goalie
Better for demko as well

- Redmile247

I agree with this & Marky has an audition til seasons end to prove otherwise.
JB wants him to show progress & should prolly move him IMO.

He can provide 5 teams out of the playoff hunt. He only leaves if he wants to and there is a market. I don't believe there is a market

I know it is an ongoing joke in here but Benning really does think he has a shot at the play offs.

I don't see a Miller trade happening.

- VANTEL

Of course he does nothing JB has ever said means he likes losing.
Reality is he knows its a very slim chance.

Tired of real excuses means u say anything is better than nothing?
Thats what GM's r hired not to do or why have one.
I wouldn't panic or look bad in a 31 team league to appease fans.

Miller would only cost 2 mil for the rest of the season and playoffs .Canucks could even hold back salary. Money is not the issue

Miller over Budaj a no brainer if Quick cannot play or his injury lingers.

I know this sounds bad, but we need a legit goalie on a contender to go down if we are going to get anything useful for Miller.
