I think it's time to strap Berube to a spaceship and blast him into outerspace. Let Halak come back and see how he fares. Can't be worse than JFB. - eichiefs9
while i agree i think they are going to trade halak, someone is going to want him and it opens up cap space. Pulock was the other reason i posted that oh look goals off his shot......amazing right? |

Should have been the plan from the get go unfortunately we have a moron for a GM. We have the better goalie in juniors while we're fighting for a playoff spot. Can't make this shat up. |

It was so easy. if Halak could not be traded at the start of the season, Berube needed to go. You use one of the Bridge guys if one of the goalies had an injury. |

None of that is unreasonable, and I don't think they trade two roster players either. I do disagree about the Lee/Nelson debate though. - eichiefs9
I like Lee alot. Dont want to see either traded. I get what is said about Brock and wish he used his size a bit more, too. Think his upside is just a bit better & he still has room to grow.
Aside of that- Ladd's shooting % is ridiulous. Guy needs to be getting more shots on net in the beginning of the season & he's a 40-goal guy. |

By all accounts Ladd is a very hot and cold player. I think that's just something we're going to have to prepare ourselves for and get used to it. When he's hot the goals might come in bunches, but I think we have to accept the fact that he's going to go cold for awhile too.
I do agree that Nelson could definitely be the better "all-around" guy of the two players, between him and Lee. But Lee also fills a role that we don't have anyone else to fill. He is a physical net-front, garbage-goal-collecting guy and frankly I don't think anyone else on this team stands their ground at the top of the crease like he does. |

It would be great for Nelson to use that size more and be tougher to play against.
Ladd had a bad start, but he is doing pretty well for not being on JT's wing or playing with high skilled players. |

Clutterbuck is probably the only player on the team that might be close to being able to play the game Lee is playing. He's smaller, yes but tough as hell & draws a lot of penalties- happy to see Lee where he is tho. The line is producing. |

Here's an idea people. If our defense is already sketchy, why not better THAT first at the deadline? |

Definitely great at drawing penalties, but I don't think he has half the scoring touch that Lee does. (Not implying you suggested that, for the record).
Definitely nice to see Lee having a great year though. He's on pace for 31 goals over the course of a full 82gm season. |

Edit: his rebound control is terrible, there were a couple yesterday he put right out into the crease and the initial shots weren't even tough ones - nyisles7
Not for nothing but been saying that I dont think Berube was that great since the beginning of the year. I was not impressed with the few games he played last year. I would not trade Halak at this point cause if Greiss goes down we will be in trouble. I say wait for the off season trade Halak and sing a reliable back up |

Yeah, I meant Cal is willing to goto front of net & mix it up. Different players tho. Cal is no slouch tho and is a dangerous shooter between the dots. He led the 4th line last yr in pts,i think. |

A new president & GM could really look like heroes next year with a top tier forward acquired and the right mix of bport players & barzal making the squad FT. I sense a dramatic improvement with right few moves. |

Well, I thought maybe Strome for Ellis could work. I've changed my stance on that as I think Nashville might want a little more. I'd still offer a little more though. I think the Kings need more scoring and have defense they could offer. |

Are we scoring? Yes. Are we good defensively? Not quite
See the position that needs most buffering? |
