I know you are right. I'm not counting on the 5th cup this year that is for sure. I saw what you did with the BV. - ses111

Trade deadline 10 days away. Told #isles are serious players for Duchene. Ball in Avs court. |

If Isles acquire Duchene, it makes Nelson expandable in another possible trade bc 2C will be locked w/Duchene and Barzal knocking next year as 3C .....

Snow trying to save his job? - Sec111
The question is what are we giving up from an already sketchy defense core? Everyone is so quick to give up Nelson the guy has 5 less points then duchene with a better + - by 15 al9ng with Hamonic a first and possibly Barzal. Sorry that to me is completely nuts it's not a viable addition by subtraction model. Going on the possibility that duchene will kick arse is a high risk move imo. I'm all for getting duchene but I'm not willing to give that up. |

Hamonic + pick is all i'll give up, let another team overpay then give $7-8m per after to him, way to much for a player who's not even top 10 C in league |

#1 in faceoff % but I too question the price, his whole team is down, but the thought of him and JT on a powerplay together or starting a 3 on 3 ot, just throwing it out there, but I question the price also. |

He'd be a great addition but not for the price, team is gonna pay JT and next Duchene (if here) that's at least $16-18m per for 2 players plus giving up pieces, thanks but NO thanks....
Like i mentioned before he's not even top 10 C in league |

I don't think Barzal is going anywhere. I fear that Pulock may be. It's a shame Bean, McAvoy, or Fabbro didn't fall to us in the draft last year or else we could have afforded to part with a really good defensive prospect.
I suspect Snow is probably trying to sell Sakic on someone like Mitch Vande Sompel or Parker Wotherspoon, who are on a great development trajectory but aren't as well known as a first rounder like Pulock. |

Giving up Nelson plus a 1st and a top d man is nuts. Giving away more points then you're adding |

I would not give up Barzal or Pulock. Duchene is a nice player, but he's risky since he needs to be signed in two years. Garth must really feel under pressure for the team to go on a run |

They can sign him not worried about that but how much of an upgrade is he over Nelson? Enough to part with what Colorado wants? I know we want a 1 2 punch but he's not Stamkos or hall, it will be another example of garth overpaying and we know Colorado is waiting for some desperate idiot gm.

I don't know how to feel, honestly. Yeah, I want Duchene pretty bad but I'm not so sure I'm ready to trade away the pieces necessary to get him. The Avs really don't have to move him, so I highly, highly doubt they are going to sit back and take anything less than a large haul for him. That's the big problem here, is that there is no real pressure to move the guy. |

I'm all for not giving up a ton for him, but he is a large upgrade over Brock Nelson. |

I'm not a big fan of Nelson and I have not seen much of Duchene. Duchene seemed invisible against the Isles. I'm just not giving up a lot for Duchene. Strome seems to be going good now and Barzal might be on the team next year. I rather try to bring in a nice two way forward for the top 6. |

It's not an easy call. No way of knowing if Duchene is going to like NY and if he fits in and if you give up a huge haul you are franked if he walks. Duchene should make a fine 2C, but the Isles still have a lack of grit and overall team defense even with Duchene. |
