Only Rielly and Zaitsev should be kept on D.

As I said a couple days ago, the Leafs have better options on the farm then playing Ben Smith.

Yep and thats on the coaching staff...

You can female dog and moan all you want about the refs but this loss is on Babcock, he continues to make bad descions game after game.

This worries me.

Rough game for gardiner again tonight. He is either really good or terrible. It's a yo-yo with him.

Some bad breaks too in this one. Last couple games actually.

how many times can gardiner shoot the puck in the forechecker while having the puck at blueline????
- MaximusAurelius

It is just (frank)ing CONSTANT. At least twice a game.

You would think he would learn one (frank)ing thing and be able to execute it.

The Leafs are getting regularly (frank)ed over by the worst refereeing I ever remember seeing, but they lost tonight because their defense is abysmal, they are very young and are nowhere near playing an actual coherent system.

I just don't see them as a playoff team. As the real playoff teams pick up their games, the Leafs are 18-wheeling it.

I know he's only a 4th liner, but sending the Goat down because he was playing good was the start of the slide. Kinda sends the wrong message. Goat>Smith and it's not even close.

I think that's what red wings fans said too about Babcock. He makes some strange calls with people he likes.

Someone has to tell Babcock, enough is enough with Smith. The hell with the expansion draft, play the better players.

You have Froese who works his ass off in the minors and you have Gauthier who showed he belongs.

maybe so, but you make your own breaks.

They are a team with a few good pieces, a couple of which are excellent, and nothing more.

It feels that way to complain about the refs, but it has honestly become ridiculous.

nah i've complained about the reffing too, it's just we're going a little too crazy with it right now. the reffing is not helping the leafs but it's their poor play overall that is the real cause of all these losses.

I'm going to say this one time.... everyone always tells Leafs fans that they shouldn't complain about the Kerry Fraser/Gretzky thing back in 92-93. Well that little bit of "poor judgement" on the part of Fraser prevented Canadian hockey fans from having a cup final with the Leafs versus the Habs. One bad, blatantly weak chicken-shyte call like that can change a lot.

now none of these games that the Leafs have been losing matter much in the big picture... but horseshyte calls are horseshyte calls no matter what. how would you like a playoff game decided by an offside because some guys foot was 1/4 inch off the ice - or by a completely lame judgement on a goaltender interference call?

the point is not that the officiating has been biased... I don't believe it is biased at all. It has however been pretty crap recently. What the league should be worried about (rather than sales of LV jerseys) is cleaning this crap up before it gets to the playoffs.

When Vermette gets 10 games for a love tap on the leg of the linesman... and someone else gets 6 for intentionally spearing a guy in the face... you know they don't have their s___ in order.

What I'm finding is that the games are generally boring because there is little room for any passion in the games, and any momentum or intensity is drained by lame officiating.

That's how they got smith this year too. It's frustrating to watch knowing there is better players that can replace the baggage on the team now.

The only non call I will point out is the hold on Brown, which came after the refs called Kadri moments before, that's unacceptable.
