jbo nmc contract and his age and declining value. still a very reliable 3-4 on a bottom team. heck he is back playing a 1-2 role under Yeo but his mistakes are obvious.

This is the way I could see it: pens can trade for shattenkirk, extend him at around 5.5 mil, and then would protect him, letang, dumo, and Schultz. They'd then trade maatta before the expansion draft to maybe get back a 1st or some prospects.

Are the blues looking for a goalie? Would a Pouliot, maf, conditional 1st deal work?

Blues won't take MAF. He has sucked come playoffs far too often, makes too much money to have him and Allen, and has a high chance of being bought out this summer and available for free and cheap.

Blues are asking for a top end prospect and a first. I don't think they'd really consider anyone who needed protection in the expansion draft, or the first being conditional.

Yes you guys don't need/want Flower when you have Allen (that may change at any time though especially if he starts poopting the bed again), we don't have what you guys want to get Shatts. I think there are other targets out there that will suit JR's needs (price & term), better & probably less high profile. I still think a Ducks Dman will end up in a Pens uniform.
