Time for you to suck it hard Oilhorse.

(frank) off... do you really think Mac-T hired McLellan and traded for Talbot ? He may have laid ground work but those are PC moves not Mac-T moves.

Ference, Fayne and Nikitin were reasonable bets to add depth but were not ever considered to be number one players.

In all fairness you slam everything because you're a grumpy wiener

- Reveen.

None were number one players. But I heard arguement from most of you about how they all were legit top 4 on playoff teams and would be great for the oilers. Wrong.

So was Nikitin on Columbus.

But it was because they had good teams with good players surrounding them. They were exposed badly when asked to carry the load. As I said they would be.

Columbus was a perennial playoff team? Yeah, no.

And obviously never equate a Oilers defense with any halfway decent team over the past 10 years.

The team was a total train wreck and that was on Lowe / Tambellini and Mac-T. You can rip on PC all you want but he was left with a dumpster fire and has done a solid job turning the team around.

You can argue all you want about his bad moves or the McDavid factor but at the end of the day he's better than anything we've had in the past 10 years. Stop being so cynical and enjoy the good times while they're here.

The talent he came into was the best young talent in the league. He had the easiest job in history.and has still fouled it up.

Best young talent ? Clearly outside of Edmonton Hall, RNH and Eberle didn't and still don't hold much value around the league. He came into a team with no goaltending, a horrid blueline and little to no forward depth. Not to mention they were softer than Jero's cock in front of Kate Upton.

How is turning them into a playoff team (frank)ing it up ?

PC took over the Oilers full of elite talent, that's why the Oilers were making the playoff under Lowe,MacT,Eakins before PC got hired, yeah PC had it easy should win the cup this season

The easiest job in history!?

This is a squad that hadn't done better than 3rd last in six seasons save a lockout shortened one where they finished 6th last

Now you know I don't blame mact like so many do, I want to be clear abou that.
but the fact is pc took over what was maybe the worst franchise in North American sports over the last decade. An embarrassment in pretty much every sense of the word. The joke of the league pretty much.

He came into Connor no doubt (which has somehow become a mark against him in your eyes it seems) but the rest of said core were pretty much on the verge of being broken as a group. if they weren't already.

The oilers turning it around was anything but a foregone conclusion. While I think he lost the hall trade in pure value, there is absolutely no doubt chiarelli has a hand in changing the style and culture of the oilers. Which we were absolutely desperate for. A style and culture that is vastly superior to any iteration of this franchise over the last decade.

I'll consider it all a failure if we don't get an extended window of a being a contender.
But as of today- by his second season- and considering the results we're getting in relation to the abomination we got in the past?

McDavid, Hall, Drai, Ebs, Nuge, Nurse, Klef and on and on. He had tons of assets to use to turn it around. Instead he wasted most of them.

The only one gone off of that list is Hall..... just saying

Nurse and Klef are hardly "elite"

You think without having the luxury of all those guys it would have been different? He had the luxury of having a lot of high end assets to make deals his predecessors didn't. And he had the luxury of having Nurse and Klef and Drai come in after getting some proper development. A luxury no one before him had.

The only asset I believe he truly 'threw away' was the high second rounder he gave for Reinhart.

It's a clear loss of course, but I just mean that for a player of his pedigree, if you were in fact pursuing him, a middle first was absolutely fair value at the time.
It's that extra asset (high second) that didn't really didn't need to go.

Hall was a loss in value, but possibly a net gain. Still not sure. But one of the '3' had to go and it seems nuge and Ebs weren't desirable in the least. Amd I don't know that Larsson wasn't the best he could get. And of course acquiring an impact defender was absolutely not something we could go with out

Connors the only true luxury he had.
But I'll Agree it allowed him to be able to move one of the 3. A luxury mact did not have for anything but a homerun

Of course it was.

Nurse stayed in junior and then went to the AHL. Klef stayed in Europe then went to the AHL. Drai was dealt to Kelowna so he could thrive. A deal that Mact made to get Drai in a better situation.

Your Mact hate clouds your judgment.
