These oiler fans are gonna be hating it when kids like Drasaitl and McDavid will need to get signed

NAh

There's some dollars comin off the books as well.

Connors gonna get what he wants. I think he's got enough sense to know that he can't handicap the team so they don't have the cash to build around him.

I'd say 9-10
Leon gets 7

That's manageable

So hopefully McDavid gets Kopitar type money ($10 million per) and Draisaitl gets Doughty money ($7 million per).

I don't get what that guy is really trying to say.

Weak troll attempt and just plain stupidity.

I would like to see one more year from Leon to show this is how he is consistently, but since it is not possible to see that on his ELC now, I next hope for a bit of a bridge deal. Maybe an extended bridge, 4 years at 5 per. Lose some potential RFA years for a solid price.

I dunno, not good at judging contract wages.

In that case, better to also give NJ negotiating rights for McD. SAve us that headache also.

I doubt he'd accept that

While I'm fairly certain he'll get a long term deal, I just can't see him going beyond 2 maayyybbee 3 on a bridge.

7x7 (if we could get him down to 6/6.5 I'd be stoked)
Or
2 x 4.5 ( but if we pulled that off- he'd cash in hard afterwards

I think bridge deals are a bad idea unless you're really unsure about a player.
Which in Leon's case isn't really the deal.
Overpay for a year or two and then you've probably got a sweetheart of a contract for about 4 years

Minus this years - Ebs deal has been fair value.
Halls was a steal.
Nuges is tough to swallow- but it's not totally egregious

I don't think they (both sides) would try and make that deal. Like I said, I am not very good at theoretical debate of contracts.

LD has been awesome this year. Legit debate on if there is too much of a McD factor, like the Hall factor the year before. His first year was a disaster. That is why I would like to see one more year, but ELC is done and it is time to go forward with a decision.

He is 22. UFA starts at 27, or something like that right?

Give a 4 year 6 M (or 7M) deal, leaves 1 more team controlled RFA contract. With the Cap not moving it works in the team's favour for this contract.

Is that far off center?

I don't even mind Nuge's contract. It was a good looking deal at the time and he isn't that far off being 100% worth it. Guy isn't that far off pace of career norms and a solid showing in the end of the season will have him nearing a 20g season. That he is a solid defensive responsible C with good offensive instincts is a positive. I dunno what to say about him. I am happy with where he is.
