In all fairness, he actually had a 71% FOW last night... 46% for the season though - 21peter
you know what, if Stepan was on the 4th line and never taking faceoffs against the best centers on other teams, his pct would probably shoot up |

so vs Washington on Sunday, you want Derek Stepan to play 10 minutes on the 4th line, that's what you are saying
you want somebody else taking care of Nicklas Backstrom - jimbro83
No because he'll play the PK and probably the PP but even stregth yeah, give 14-15 minutes, just a little reduction to say "we know you're better than this" |

Pump the brakes, those are far and few between, maybe once a season, for $6.5 he should be in the 60 point range but that's reaching potential, we can't have that on the Rangers, he's always been a great takeaway/giveaway ration guy, his inconsistent play this year reflects how those numbers have gone in the toilet - KreiderBomb
I asked this the other day and did not get a straight answer (except someone trading his grandmother)
Would you trade Stepan for Toews straight up?

Not for nothing and not trying to argue but Hayes did nothing last night. - climbdenali12
His line is the reason we had the chance to win 6 in a row along with the team D, speaking of team D that PP unit was tremendous on that shorty, 5 guys standing around the net watching Tavares and Kulemin embarass them |

No doubt the Hayes line has been awesome but if they were better last night there is a good chance the Rangers win...None of the lines were clicking last night and like you said the D coughed up too many chance for them to overcome. |

just move onto sunday, it's a big one and in no way should a game vs Washington be used as a game to "make a point" with players |

Last night the forwards weren't clicking. This team scores at will sometimes, potting 3 goals a period. The forwards are not the problem this year, in the past of course. The long run probloms are simple, defense. They can look scary at times and they need to address that. Mika, mats, Nash, and certainly Stepan or whoever you name aren't an issue at the moment. Hopefully this is seen as a rational post which is the intent lol.
Forwards can be blamed for PP most nights and these guys probably pass to much and then before you know it the two minutes are over haha |

Its one game, take a deep breath and realize they won 6 of 7 and start a new streak.
Sometimes you have to take a step back from dissecting every game and look at things week to week or in 4 game chunks.

They looked really good in the 2nd half of the first period, came out in the second and got away from how they finished the first, that's where they lost the game |

The play where Zucc did draw a penalty but froze because he was one on one with Griess and had no one to pass to was frustrating enough, he's got a good wrister but unless it's a shootout he can't can't shoot, I don't get it |

They had a 10 minute brain fart. It's gonna happen over 82 games. Another thing is it's getting down to the wire for teams in the wild card hunt, isles were desperate. Rangers aren't, I give the isles credit more then anything that the rangers didn't do. And the rangers still put forth effort, I hate when people say stuff that isn't true. Isles held on big time after it was 3-2 |

definitely. like i was saying on last nights blog sure it sucks loosing to the isles, but 6-1 is the last 7 against some pretty good teams other than colorado.
i do think we'll see buch back in, or at least i hope. maybe w'll have some jump playing against ovi and kuzi.
get a W against the caps and this game is an after thought. |

Pirri should play over puempel if Buch is gonna sit. He does provide something on the PP at least |

Call me crazy, but of the forwards to trade I still think Nash is the one to move. Maybe you could get Shatty for him. You'd like to have Buch playing in the top 9 somewhere, because if he plays it's the 4th line because no one else is going there. Or Vesey. Niether are fourth line players. This isnt because my Nash hate exists come playoff time, just seems like the smartest move to make imo |

No (frank)ing way do I want Buch over Nash in a playoff game.
Why does Nash have so many haters lesser Tom? |

Trying to improve the Defense. Honestly it's not because of my hate for Nash. It's also one less player to protect where we can maybe salvage Grabner or something. Nash brings more then scoring so it would hurt in places I agree on that, especially the PK. Just saying I'd rather trade him then anyone else if we're gonna get Shatty or someone |
