If Shanny and Co. can get more for him then I hope they do. Just my opinion of his trade value.

Surely Anaheim are not going to give up a guaranteed top 4 defensemen, that's cost controlled for 5-7 years for 1 year of JVR?

They already have 4 top of defense men, and more than decent top 6 defense men on the NHL team already.

Your idea is that they'll carry 8-9 guys on D into the playoffs, while they cant buy goals? Im no GM but its way too obvious of a move to do when you have 2-3 assets in the minors, and would still be left with 2 guys while getting a 1st line winger.

JvR isnt going for a single AHL guy. You'll most likely see a package of 2 players and/or picks, on both sides of the fence

I have the same train of thought, I think Landy is going to the Ducks (Vantanen) or to the Bruins (Carlo or McAvoy package). Either way they are getting a RHDman back so swap Barrie for a winger. Keep Duchene down the middle with MackInnon, build wingers around them with JVR, Rantanen, Nico in the draft.

For me, and it's only.my opinion, I'd want more for JVR considering his offensive production.

Ideally, I'd like to wait until next deadline to trade him when all 16 playoff teams can easily squeeze him in under the cap. Especially if the Leafs eat 50% of his salary for the final two months of next season

With expansion looming the Ducks also need to protect Bieksa, Fowler, Lindholm, and Vatanen. Meaning they can only protect four forwards, so they will lose one of Silfverberg or Rackell for nothing.

Perhaps it's not too outlandish to think that the Ducks would move a Vatanen for JVR so they can protect one more player. Unless they entertain the idea of buying out Bieksa, which seems like a stretch for a budget team.

Maybe I'll revise the trade I said earlier that bothered Burn so much and say JVR & Bracco for Lindholm? That seems like a low ball offer for Lindholm to me. I don't think Anaheim trades him anyways.

When Tyson Barrie is on the ice, Colorado has faced 130 more shots against than for this year. Considering the Leafs are embracing players who are on the positive side when it comes to such numbers, I don't see why they'd be interested.
