I was at the game last night and Neuvirth was just awful. The Flyers controlled much of the first period and were in the game until those 2 quick goals that should have been stopped. Haven't read back but why was he playing on a back2back night? Something must be wrong with Mason as he should have been pulled from the game.

This is my point with some of the stats community. Looking at Read, he is a pile of poop. He has done nothing well, and is a warm body at best.

I'll take the stats community over the make a dumb statement I can't support with anything but a swear word community.

Read is effective in 16-17 at scoring points in a 3rd line role, and playing good defense that stops the other team from scoring. He also has the best goals allowed numbers of any PK forward. The only place he hasn't been effective is in his limited PP minutes.

Its why I say rebuild.

I get there are some good pieces on this club. There are. I am looking into the future however. Its becoming more and more clear that the defense wotn be ready for a few years.

So I look to build the whole team AS A WHOLE toward that window. Put yourself into the best position you can for that time period, and dont worry about losing a few more games because quite frankly the team is POS today anyway, and a product that is hard to watch.

Today's Flyers are irrelevant, minus a few guys that will be here and contributing to them winning in a few years. Set yourself up for the future, and bring in the pieces needed to win then. Those are not going to be obtained drafting 14th and trading the Brayden Schenn's or MDZ's.

They can have any forward but Simmonds.

I'm looking at Calgary and wondering if there is any way a deal could be made for Monahan. Won't be cheap but that's the kind of 1C I think they need to build around.
