I think Ottawa would want the Flyers to take back Bobby Ryan(to which I'd say Hell NO!) or at least Brassard in the deal. I'd want either Logan Brown or Colin White in the deal. - Baxter27
No way in hell I'd take Ryan, unless they ate half the contract and took back AMac at full price as well as Giroux

I pulled the plug at 4-1. - MJL
I wish I had.. instead they make it 5-3 and I am like Oohhh here we goooo.. and then boom..
Its like when you tried to talk to the hottest girl in jr high and she responds... but it was only because she wanted to copy your homework. Such a tease. |

I would want Brown. I would add if needed.
Maybe you could get Hoffman. I would maybe see about Hammond coming back the other way. He is signed cheap and him and Stolarz could battle to start for Flyers. - J35Bacher
My bad, I didn't mean Hoffman separate from Brown. I meant the full package being: Mac, Brown, and then a 1st or Hoffman. |

I think you make a deal like that under the assumption MacArthur never plays again - YuenglingJagr
I was kind of thinking that. Almost like how Toronto took on Horton to move Clarkson |

Voracek and Couturier are on my disappointed list. - MJL
Yeah, they are pretty close to being on mine as well, but I'll give them to the end of the season to make my final determination.

Sadly, Giroux's prime was 2010-2015. That ship has sailed. - BiggE
Really short shelf life of elite play. Very rarely do you see a great players prime over by 27 barring a catastrophic injury. |

I need a top 10 pick and a high end prospect for Giroux. I won't entertain the thought of trading him until the draft positions are set.
Also, if Giroux is getting traded for youth it makes me wonder about keeping Voracek with his current pay rate...
To much to consider right now. - hereticpride
Unless his play dramatically improves, this will never happen. Other teams scout and watch film, they know what he is at this point.

Couturier did get hurt. people wonder if Giroux is hurt but couturier could also be trying to play threw something. I think last night you saw better skating out of him so I wonder if he is getting to be 100 percent. |

Why are we such a perimeter team - jak521
Lack of elite speed and overall size up front has a lot to do with it. At 6'2 209, Jake is the only forward on the entire roster with a combo of top end skating and good size. It's hard to penetrate against NHL teams when your forwards are both small and/or slow.

wasting G's prime years would be one reason why he would agree to lift his NMC IF the flyers chose to move on. I am seriously hoping, almost praying, he isn't 100% healed yet. pretty please with sugar on the top hoping - nastyflyergirl
It would be an unprecedented year to year shift in ability if that wasn't the case.
Considering Ghost is also struggling I would not be surprised if their hips are playing bigger factors than we know. |

Very possible, it's why I'm willing to wait and see on Coots.

You certainly have to consider it. It may create another hole, but without Giroux we are a bottom 5 team most likely. So why not speed up the collection of assets and slide into the conversation of winning the draft lottery. |

A 75-80 point season from him next year, with solid ES play would be so great. |

Well somebody will get hot when it no longer matters. After many of Voracek's shifts I keep looking for the 3 judges to hold up their score cards after he went on another trip around the outside of the rink. He needs to mix in a triple salchow every now and then. For heaven's sake take the puck hard to the net on occasion. |

Maybe, but, at times, I've seen Ghost skating just fine. I think his problems are as much mental and the usual sophomore struggles more than any specific physical problems.

That would be a miracle at this point. 75-80 points would be top 10 in the league.

Jake of late but not his overall season. Coots has been a major disappointment outside of the first week or two but I still have hope he will get back to being the player he was in the pens series. |

Well if this is the case, then missing the playoffs would be good for an extended rest. And they won't be rushing to get recovered for anything this summer. |

oh yeah I'm not making this trade in-season whatsoever. Wait for the draft and see who gets what pick. Then target a couple of teams that have the desired draft pick range along with prospects that fit our plan. |

One thing I look at was his line, Couturier, Konecny and Voracek were the best line and most consistent. Then Couturier got hurt. Then when he got back he was with Read and Cousins/Weise. Now that he is back with Voracek and with more skill I see a difference. I also wonder if he is finally getting back to 100 percent from the knee injury. |
