I personally wanted to trade up to draft Logan Brown, or one of Keller and Tkachuk. but of the three, Brown intrigued me most with his size. I would have Trayden Schenn if it took that, - arichardson22
I would take a deal like MacArthur to bring back a prospect like him. Also if they got Giroux they are saying they want to win now. Brown would be almost blocked with Giroux, Brassard, Turris down the middle. |

He's producing more than Weise (they have the same cap hit I believe) but Raffl has been a disappointment to me this year as well. 8-3-11 when playing a bit in the top 6 is meh.
he had 21-7-28 in 67 games then dropped to 13-18-31 in 82 to 8-3-11 in 48 so far. I like Raffl and have no issue keeping him but I also wouldn't care if they moved him. I'd sooner move him than lose him for nothing in the expansion draft.
obviously its not feasible to trade everyone nor do I want that but this team needs some change - nastyflyergirl
Was it Raffl or Gudas that was rumored Hexy was offered 2 2nds for last season? |

And they have already begun working on the forwards with Konecny, Lindblom and the trio of Rubtsov, Laberge and Allison from last year.
The way they are going, they are looking at a good chance of picking in the top 10 this year as well which should land them another quality prospect to add to the mix. - BiggE
Honestly outside of those guys there are another 5-6 guys that could surprise people..
Fazleev and Aube-Kubel both have NHL potential albeit in different aspects.
Cooper Marody who was having a hell of a freshman season at Michigan before struggling with a severe case of Mono, is finally back at it and is almost scoring at PPG pace.
Connor Bunnaman is having himself a pretty good season with Kitchner where is already knocking on 30 goals (good for second on the team) and is a big boy at 6'3 210.
Tanner Laczynski has 28 points in 23 games for Ohio St. and is a +18 as a Freshman, and had a decent showing in the WJC for a first timer.
David Kase was probably the best czech forward in the WJC and has dominated at the lower Czech leagues but really hasnt had a chance at the senior level.
We have a really solid group of guys that could be something... |

The entire team pretty much sucks. I'm surprised we're not giddy over the offensive explosion of scoring 3 goals last night. That's a start, right? - MJL
Do you realize how long I've been waiting to get that 50% off pizza discount when the Flyers score 3 and win the game. They scored 3, but still lost! rats, foiled again! |

Watched him play a couple times. He is a thick boy.
Also Wade Allison is having a good year at Western Michigan. He is another big boy who skates well. |

A decade, no likely not, but 6 or 7 years, yeah. He inherited a cap nightmare and very little prospect depth when he took the job. He's pretty much cleaned up the cap, and will be rid of just about all the deadwood in another year or 2, and he's done a remarkable job at refilling the prospect cupboard.
They are moving in the right direction. Building patiently from within is never a linear process, there will be ups and downs, but overall, I think he is doing a very good job. - BiggE
At least they aren't wasting Giroux's prime years anymore. |

The concussion issues scare me a little bit, I would want another piece coming back other than MacArthur and Brown. Mainly because theres a risk MacArthur gets another concussion and doesn't contribute by not playing. And Brown wouldn't step in for us right away I assume. Although, we are getting rid of the big cap hit from Giroux. Idk, I'd try to squeeze their 1st out of it too. Or even try to get Hoffman, even if we had to add a bit more. Solid goal scorer. |

Yup, it's a damned short list. I'm happy with Provorov, hell, I'm elated with Provorov. I'm happy with Konecny and Simmonds and to a little lesser extent, Cousins. I'm ok with AMac (he is what he is, but it's much better than last year) and I'm ok with Jake, PEB, Couturier and Gudas. The rest have just been somewhere between mediocre and flat our horrible.

I know you are kidding but for me, he gets time to see what happens with his draft picks. now that is not to say he shouldn't continue to try to improve the team in other means (reasonable free agents and trade) but I give him time to see where his draft picks go - nastyflyergirl
Looks like 2 DNQ's and a first round exit for Hextall so far. I know he inherited a pile of poop in his lap from the previous GM, but next year things have to start heading in the right direction. Right now this team is a tire fire. |

Sadly, Giroux's prime was 2010-2015. That ship has sailed.

Gudas - J35Bacher
Thought so, but i also remember Raffl's name coming up. Maybe the asking price for him was 2 2nds? It was right before he was extended. I feel like one of the Florida teams were interested in him as a rental. I could be completely wrong tho. |

I would want Brown. I would add if needed.
Maybe you could get Hoffman. I would maybe see about Hammond coming back the other way. He is signed cheap and him and Stolarz could battle to start for Flyers.

Yea I mentioned him yesterday as well.. Kid could really end up being a 2nd line winger. We are adding some serious size and skating the next few years...
I have packed this season in. Im done with it (ill still watch) so I am accepting of whats going on. I hope that we end up picking in the 6-9 range so we get a shot at one of Eeli Tolvanen, Michael Rasmussen, Martin Necas, or Owen Tippett... if we can land one of those guys we add another really solid prospect.. |

Ottawa has ample cap space, and with the contract prorated over the rest of the season, they could afford him. I'd offer G for their 1st and see just how desperate they are to pull off a big move. - BiggE
I think Ottawa would want the Flyers to take back Bobby Ryan(to which I'd say Hell NO!) or at least Brassard in the deal. I'd want either Logan Brown or Colin White in the deal. |

I need a top 10 pick and a high end prospect for Giroux. I won't entertain the thought of trading him until the draft positions are set.
Also, if Giroux is getting traded for youth it makes me wonder about keeping Voracek with his current pay rate...
To much to consider right now. |
