I had no idea King wrote the Shawshank Redemption
- nastyflyergirl

Yup, he really is much more than a horror writer.
edit: you should also check out his short story collections, they are fantastic.

My favourite author.

I try different people once in a while but always go back to King.

He just has this simplistic badass vibe or something.

No question in my mind Hex will move at least Streit

However Streit does have an NTC which could be an issue

I also have a strong feeling Neuvirth gets moved...especially if he keeps this level of play up, and the way he played last year in the playoffs not to mention his friendly cap number

- Just5

I hope he does move both. I think a couple of teams would take him with some retained salary, especially if someone goes down with an injury between now and deadline. I would hope Streit would want a chance to play in the playoffs. I'm curious how much interest he would get in the offseason as a FA.

Which King books would you recommend reading? My work has been ungodly slow and i've been looking for some books to check out so i don't kill all my data within 10 days

At his age, I can't see anyone offering more than one year and maybe 2 million max.

Mr Mercedes I think is my favourite. It doesn't have the fantasy element that some of King's books have which I think is a good Intro to his style. The antagonist is really awesome and his relationship with his mother.

It's a good length too, The Stand and IT are long.

Awesome thanks, I read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon in early high school and another one about cellphones, can't remember the title. But never really further explored King.

Streit will generate interest from some teams.

Yeah thats why I asked the question because with the possibility of teams not having interest, why wouldn't you want a possible last chance to go to the playoffs. Its almost a forced retirement if no one signs him, at least from the NHL

It's actually a movie now, and not a good one haha. The book was pretty good.

I think Salem's Lot is a good intro to King book. One of his earliest books but one of his best. Easy to get into and not too long.

Looking for an easy , good read...

The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker..

The short novella that started the Hellraiser mythos, it still works as a read..

I recommend everyone read Finnegans Wake. You'll laugh; you'll cry.

Not a fan of crying.

Although I can really remember one time in recent years where I did.

That (frank)ing movie 'Room'. When the kid was crying out from the car holy poop I wept. That film was a surprising ride.

When the Kane goal went it in was just silence. No emotion.

I just finished reading The Pout Pout Fish. Fantastic novel about a fish who has a pouty look on his face. He is born that way and when all his friends ask him why he is pouty, he tells them it is simply the way he is and he is destined to be glum. That is until, well, I am not going to spoil it for you. You'll just have to read it.
