Remember rumors I think in the offseason or very early in the year.

Simmonds for Galchenyuk, Beaulieu and 1st rounder?

Would you revisit something like that?

I wouldn't, personally. It's fair value for sure, but I think that Wayne Simmonds is second to Provorov on the most untouchable list (using only NHL players). If I'm trading Simmonds, I'm adding pieces to trade up, not taking more pieces and trading down.

What the Blackhawks think about Toews is irrelevant. The Blackhawks are still a top team and have won 3 cups in the last 6 years. I think the situations are slightly different, don't you? Giroux is without question a declining player.
- MJL

Lets be honest, who on the team isnt declining right now?

I agree. Selling is a no brainer. Unfortunately the pieces they have to sell won't bring back much value. But still you have to get what you can.
If Streit, MDZ, and one of the goalies aren't traded at the deadline you have to start questioning what Hextall is doing.

- PLindbergh31

There is absolutely no reason for those players not to be moved. They could add depth to a playoff team. Injuries happen during long playoff runs and there should be no issue moving these guys. Once that is done then Let's hope Hextall really does work and changes the look of this via offseason trades/ UFA's

Would you use Gostisbehere before Sanheim?

For what it's worth , G has put this team on his back for years and he deserves a few more seasons. Things might not be so bright right now but with some young D coming, maybe a few fowards prospect (Linbolm for sure, maybe Lier and Laughton), and some improved play form Weise haha we should be alright next few years. G won't have to be that 70-80 point guy.

isnt that exactly what we said about Lavy too?
- nastyflyergirl

Well, Lavy did have a pretty good resume prior to coming to Philly. The bottom line is no coach is going to be able to make the all the fans happy. I think right now the jury is still out on Hakstol. You would like to have more of a known quantity imo. He just seems to hit the wrong buttons. Last night he dresses 11 forwards, boom Weal goes down and you are playing two periods shorthanded up front.

I'd much rather say goodbye to Sanheim, personally.
- jmatchett383

Idk, Sanheim could be something really special. Being that big and that good at skating and moving the puck... whew.. He is always much better defensively than I had originally thought. If you get a chance get up to LHV and watch him play. Scary good..

They are still a bubble team until that percentage hits 0%. We've seen some wacky late season runs recently by other teams. I know this next week is brutal for the Flyers but we've seen stranger things than them back to back beating the Caps and Pens.

I give Mason the starts in in the next 3 since reports are Neuvy poop the bed last night. So glad I fell asleep before that game started. We need to get Mason hot and on a roll if we want a chance and we all know the only way that's happening is if it's HIS net and there is no chance of someone stealing it. So time for Hakstol to mind game him and give him the 100% vote of confidence and ride him until the deadline.

- dragonoffrost

The problem is that they're going in the wrong direction. While some teams are getting better or at least treading water, the Flyers are getting worse it seems. Sure, they could make it, but they'd have to do a full 180 right now and ride it for the next 2 months. I don't see that as likely.

The Flyers need to do what is best for them. If they come to the conclusion that a trade of Giroux, if possible, is what they should do, then they should try and do that. They don't owe Giroux anything. He was well paid.

I get that, and I like him. But if you can only keep one of Sanheim or Myers, I'm keeping Myers.

This is based on limited viewing and what I've read, and Myers being both taller and right-handed.

I totally agree with this. There is one player currently on the roster that I wouldnt trade, and everyone knows its Provy.

Would love to see this happen and he go to a team and put up 4 years of 60 plus points and hear all you idiots B!tch and moan. Probably win a cup.

He's from Ontario, which means it's always been his dream to play for the Maple Leafs.

I just mean in the sense that we were complaining Lavy had them playing a system they weren't equipped to play.

I don't care if he does that on another team, as long as the trade works out for the Flyers.

He can put up 70 points for all I care as long as the Flyers get better. I hate this" well what if so and so does this for anther team" bullpoop. if GM's thought like that there would never be trades.

I don't know, I'd rather see him lead the Flyers to a Cup than prove everyone on a message board wrong. That would be my secondary goal.

I know people say we can't move Giroux. I looked at the Phanuef trade to Ottawa. I think I would do that to get out of that contract. This isn't about the now anymore. They have to look to the future. And the future doesn't need to be 5-6 years down the road.
- J35Bacher

At this point having seen what he's become over the last couple of years, especially at ES. I'd trade Giroux straight up for a 2nd round pick if the other team would take the entire contract off our hands. I really think that in another year or 2, he'll be a right handed version of VLC minus the size and killer wrister.

It's sad, because I really like and respect the guy, but he just looks like he's damned close to being done. I really focused on him last night, and he was, by far, the Flyer's worst skater. He has no jump or acceleration at all. Unless he's hurt (and if he is, get him the hell out of the lineup), he needs to go asap.

Yep. If he gets traded, I don't care what he does if it improves the Flyers in the long run.

He also seems to become a turnover machine in his own zone. He threw another puck blindly up the middle that Klefbom scored on.
