Quality of competition. Playing against the NHL's best night in and night out. All your fancy stats be damned if you can't see that Russel is provided a solid top 4 right side (his off side) option better than anyone I can think of in recent memory outside of Larsson.

No one is praising Russel like he is a superstar, but on a team lacking bonified top 4 defensemen for as long as they have you would think you would appreciate any kind of stabilizing presence.

Klefbom also leads the defense in primary points 5x5 (13), has more than double the shots of the next defenseman (116 vs Sekera 53), and has the best P/60 for D-men (.94).

Klefbom definitely makes more noticeable mistakes because he is a puck mover. Fun fact McDavid and Draisaitl lead the forwards on the team for most giveaways.
