They get 3rd pick odds in the lotto...subject to rising and falling like everyone else
- Bullfrog77

One of the few heavyweights that we always seem to show up for. Baring that I think we still lose 3-2.

I just get the feeling we are gonna get Michael Rasmussen, and I'd be OK with that

Goddamn teenagers drinking the alcohol and eating all the food and not being a mature seasoned pro.

If they're not captain serious towes, crosby, McDavid, they're broken.

I think it's more than just being a punk. This market and management group is so desperate for some glimmer of hope that too much was expected of Virt too quickly.

Like big Dmen, heavy hitting power forwards take a little longer to develop and it seems they have a tendency to have issues around conditioning and (at times) substance abuse. I'm sure the canucks knew there would be some bumps in the road developing Virt.

The canuck organization is always spouting that everything’s peachy, operation normal, keep fighting the good fight... but in reality the near future is pretty bleak. That's why a NHL ready Virtanen would have been such a huge boost for this franchise.

Now let's see how good the canuck development system is.

Don't look at it as half empty. The party has just begun. Now the real race is on. Straight to the bottom baby!

I'm actually okay with the team this season showing effort every night. They just don't have the horses to compete. Much as I appreciate what the Sedins have done for Vancouver and how much fun they have been to watch in their prime, the reality is nothing will change until they are retired or traded.

Can't have 20 million tied up in cap space on three done players (Ericksson in that group) and expect to succeed.

I would rather they not tank, but they will end up with a decent pick. Hopefully JB finally takes someone who can actually put a puck on net.

I think the team that finishes 28th also gets 28th odds in the draw. Kinda weird two teams finishing 28th lol

I would be OK with that statement if this team was similar to the 2000 - 2001 canucks but we are far, far from that. When your team chemistry is made up of aging vets, a few rookie/sophomore players, and a ton of fringe NHLers then it's hard to watch IMO.

Depends where we pick, but much like the Virtanen pick not my ideal choice if we pick in the top 10.

He's big, can skate well and is effective in front of the net but doesn't have the creativity/skill that we desperately need IMO.

Yeah I'm not as up on the draft this year as I am normally. Just saw some decent stats. Say we pick 5 again who would your choice be?

Really depends how it plays out but I would be ecstatic to pick up Mittelstad or Liljegren there although I doubt they will still be available.

I think Tippet, Tolvanen, Vilardi, Pettersson and Glass are all guys I would take before Rasmussen as well.

So you're saying that Toews Kane Hossa are done?
Crosby Kessel Malkin?
Not sure of the point your trying to make. Hank Dank and Louie are done.

Edit: sorry, missed the winky sarcastic emoji.

I really really hope we stay clear of Virtanen 2.0 in Rassmussen

The guy is producing points at the rate of a fourth line junior player at 5v5.

All his points come from the power play. I would rather anyone in the top 15 projected than Rassmussen

Just stumbled upon a draft simulator.

Yup, huge. Huge bust potential. We need a prospect that drives play

I actually think he might be though. Despite what some people are saying online, he looked unreal during the WJC

I think we are going to see things play out more this year depending on what team needs are.

If Colorado ends up getting 1st I'm not sure they take Hischier there.
