No one's saying trade them all. Just saying that you're probably going to have to part with at least one of them if you want to get a player like Landeskgo/Barrie.
Also, I find it odd that you can't always trade your prospects away yet you're fine with trading a 1st round pick. Why would you insist on protecting a 2nd rounder from 2 years ago but be open to trading your 1st rounder in the upcoming draft? Wouldn't the player drafted with that 1st rounder likely to be included in the "untouchable" list? - jmatchett383
im just of the mindset that you cant have such an exhaustive untouchable list. i know the whole semantics argument similar to the elite label, but at some point overuse of it dilutes the meaning.

How are maatta and Wilson spare parts? It's not like I'm trading kuni fehr Bonino and do for landeskog and Barrie. It's a #1 goalie, a young top 4 d man on a good contract a 1st and a good top 9 player.
I'm not trying to nhl17 anything. Look at some of the trades over the years that people thought would never happen and did... - nh4442
That is an NHL 17 trade if I've ever seen one. |

No, it's not a #1 goalie. It's a guy who's playing like a backup who, if anything, is a lateral move. Maata is good but has never repeated his rookie season success. Wilson is a 24-year-old (not exactly a "prospect") with 10 career goals (more like a bottom-6 than top-9 player).
And you want them to be the keys (along with a late-20's first rounder) of a trade for a top-pair (top-3 at worst) defenseman and a top-line forward that the team is under zero obligation to trade? Put yourself in Colorado's GM's shoes and ask why you would do that deal. Also, you don't think another team could offer a better package?
The Kessel trade was a different case because management basically had to trade him to purge the team and because the fanbase ran him out. Colorado is under zero pressure to do the same. |

In all fairness, there have been some head scratching trades recently. Don't you think Chia could have got more for Hall than Larsson (just as an example??). Bruins (Chia again), with Hamilton? If the Avs have a system that suits, let's say Maatta, then realistically he could very well be top pairing D. What's a top pairing D worth on the market? Shero got 1 of the best wingers in the NHL for a 'questionable' #2 Dman. |

If you change the goalie from fleury to Murray then they might take that trade.
Fleury is slightly overpaid for a number one so he has zero trade value. Maatta has value but it's less than Barrie. Wilson is a dime a dozen player. 1st round pick isn't worth much this year especially the last pick in the round. Your offering almost zero value to Colorado |

There is one trade per year that looks like that. And to be honest his trade proposal makes those other deals look fair. Fleury at best is worth a 4th round pick.
So one good dmen a 4th round pick, a 1st round pick, and a 4th liner is his offer |

If the Av's have turned down what is rumored to be out there for MD, then there is no way the Pens are going to land him. Pretty much 4 1st round picks. |

If anyone wants to take a walk down memory lane, go to Jenifer Cutler's blog about Therrien coaching in the NHL again on the main page. The "soff" rant is simply wonderful. |

So Sid requests Fleury starts tonight because he wants him in the game he gets 1000. Whats that say about Murrays poor attitude. |

Rutherford knows what Fleury means to this team and how it could shatter the lockeroom shipping him out at the deadline. He will be traded in the offseason. |

That's why you have to move maatta instead of DP and or Fleury.
That's why I think a landeskog/Barrie is a smart move. You get two pieces that you need and you aren't hurting team chemistry or cap. Plus fehr can be sent either for a backup or a pick that you can flip for a backup
It's not unrealistic trade. Just have to add the right pieces..a 1st and player like Wilson or prospect like archie or even DP...
But sprong Simon sunds blueger prow and a couple others that I can't think of right now lol are untouchable - nh4442
This has to be a joke right? You aren't landing Landeskog with that package let alone landing both Landeskog and Barrie. |

I don't think Sid would have wanted his 1000th point to come any other way than setting up his old buddy Kunitz. |

If Sid didn't get the goal himself, I was hoping for Geno or Kunitz. |

Missed the 1st period in its entirety and therefore missed Sid's 1000th ah well, I've seen almost every other point. Love that Kunitz was in on it. |
