There is only one acceptable way to reheat a steak: eat all of it the first time so you don't (frank)ing ruin it reheating it.

I know, I know.

I'm trying to cut back.

I ate it cold. It was still good.

He missed the net a lot last year though, before the rib injury. It seems like he's getting closer now….not shooting from the faceoff circles as much.

yeah idk

The hope is that he's turned a corner mentally. He's been awfully creative lately. His goal tonight was off the hook.

he's passing more too when it's called for. His Modus Operendi previously was take a stride or two in to the O-zone and blast a shot, miss the net and have it wrap all the way around the boards and exit the blue line.
Not sure who is whispering in his ear about how to select scoring chances, but its working.
He's under contract for another year and is in beast mode. There isnt much other teams could offer us right now that would cause me to agree with trading him.
No picks, no potential, no prospects. Im over "futures."
I said it last blog and I'll say it again. this team needs players like him on the roster right now. You cant trade someone like him away, you need to add to a team with the way he has been playing.
This wasnt a spectacular win. But I'll take a 2 goal shutout all day, 7 days a week.

It couldn't possibly be the coach. We all know he sucks. He rode Sid and Gino to a Cup.

We only play the AVs once more though...
the rest of the games won't be that easy

I wanna keep Kane too,
but that means Murray is gonna have to take advantage of a team that's up against it with the expansion draft
And how good a defenseman does Fasching + (or something like that) get us?

I was thinking the same thing. a team up against the expansion draft is going to want players off of our protected list (posted earlier.) If Murray can combine anyone off that list….possibly with a player off our roster who will likely get selected post trade, we could get out trade win on.
Interesting situation.

Sabres sitting 3 points out of the last WC, 4 out of 3rd in the Atlantic and Marner injured last night. 2 more vs. the west, who the Sabres own this year, before the bye, but they are now tied for most games in the EC as I warned a month ago. Holy S, next 6 games all vs. the WC. No more for the rest of the season.
- Hatboro_Swords

That dominance of the west is nothing more than a fluke and I wouldn't be counting on that continuing going forward. I hope I'm wrong but there's a few trips out west still ahead ............potentially huge bumps in the road.

I think a guy like Fasching would be very attractive to teams bc they won't have to protect him

Makes him more attractive than say Larsson, Ennis or Girgs

I'm curious to see who Vegas takes from us
Right now,
Looks like their best option could be Carrier
Since they have to take 30 players...
they're gonna need to select some guys that can go down to the AHL

With us right now,
They're best options are gonna be Carrier, Moulson, or Gorges
Pretty easy choice if I'm Vegas

Babcock doesn't have a choice but to play rookies
NO TEAM kept guys in the AHL learning & developing like Detroit did when Babcock was there
There's something to be said for developing guys over time instead of rushing them up to the NHL

- jdfitz77

Sorry so late getting back to this....fell asleep early.

My point was that our coach would play old, slow, inneffective veterans over fast (yet green) rookies even though the rookies don't really look out of place. it bothers me because we're a slow team in a fast league.

Bbas could certainly pluck some AHL vets from the Marlies instead of playing his rookies.

Someone posted "yeah, and TO only has one more win than us"...but they have a positive goal-differential, have games in hand, and are fun to watch (even when they lose, the scores are 5-3). If we're gonna be the f'ing Devils it'd be nice to be near the top of our division...otherwise I'll trade fast, fun hockey and still be a fringe team like we are now, except now we are dull.
