Pretty much. I mean you always try to have hope when your heading into the playoffs, but I can honestly say I had absolutely none last year.

For sure. Really, someone should have lost their job last year for not seeing that we were not contenders.

It really does show how important Kreids and Hayes are to this team. Also Miller picking up where he left off.

Obviously the addition of Grabner, Vesey, Buch, etc. but I think if Hayes and Kreider were playing like last year, this team would be mediocre at best.

I kept saying that going into the playoffs, but people were saying how playoff tested the roster was and not to worry
My point was, you cant just flip the switch come playoff time, they proved that.
You have to be beating bad teams, and winning close games to be ready for the playoffs.

problem was the trade deadline was February 28th and they were playing ok then, it wasn't until March until they really looked mediocre

Yup, they had that bit of a streak there. I don't blame management for trying, I just wish they called me 1st.

I was going to say 1 player changed this team, but Hayes, Miller Kreider have elated their game as well, but where would we be without Grabner?

The same one who is totally OK with going with Pulock/Pelech/Mayfield as 50% of our top-6 defensemen next year?

As you all know, I like trades and wasn't happy when we decided to keep Yandle and on top of that wasted 2 2nds on a declining Staal. We could have 2 more 2nds, maybe a 1st+ for Yandle on the books right now. Wasn't happy how they handled the last deadline.
