Tavares wanted an empty net goal a 100% more than the Rangers had any interest in winning this game, embarrassing effort,execution, desire, you name it and the Ranger don't bring it when playing the Isles, been this way for far too long and it's a bad sign for a supposed "contender", sorry call me out for another rant but this group is missing something and won't win anything without it

On one hand i think its cute that we are the isles cup every game. On the other hand sometimes it reminds me of 94 when the under lying current was that we had to beat the isles at the coliseum before getting into the playoffs to overcome that to win a cup.

For me, the bigger picture is were 6-1 in our last 7. But during that stretch the last 4 games or so I've been saying we need more out of our "#1" 6.5 million dollar a year center. Everyone was OK with 5 assists and no goals in 12 games. I'm not. He whiffed on a wide open net on the PP (which I don't think he should be on) and then the Isles score on the same PP short handed. He's been bad for over a month now. How come Kreider/Miller/Hayes/Buch etc can be sent the message but not Stepan? He's been bad the past 12 games. Send him a message. Take him off the PP, put him on the 4th line for a few shifts, SOMETHING.

Agreed, his lack of production is frustrating as is Ziba, 2 guys capable of so much more, 4th line next game is Ziba-Step-Puemps
