This was a loss make days ago in the making. Rememeber the excitement of Hank's 1000s... everyone elevated their game..... same thing here.

We lost days ago.

(Still hate being shut out though)

Chaput.

When guys like Chaput and Magma are getting major ink in the local newspaper, you know your team has hit rock bottom.

- bloatedmosquito

The funny thing is it's not Chaput Magna or Gaunce giving up the goals .

Gaunce -1
Magna -1
Chaput-4

Ericksson-10
Daniel-12
Hank-20

If the three Swedes scored some goals and stop giving the other team so many then Magna Gaunce and Chaput are non factors

rules need to be changed.

6 games for intent to injure, with a stick to the chops

Vermette gives a tap on the back of the leg to an official (intent, but not to injure by location of the whack) gets an automatic 10 games.

Sense = 0

- Codes1087

The Vermette thing is because referees are defenseless and should be regarded by the players as not part of the game. Players can whack each other all they want, they may even expect it, but very little of what a referee does deserves to be attacked. I have no problem with the automatic discipline, stupid to wack a lineman because he dropped the puck

It's time that JB turns some of his acquisitions (like Larsen, Chaput, Magma, Boucher, Skille, and Zalewski) into pure gold. That's why he signed them right? I mean, that's what good GMs do...

I'm sure there's a package within that group that could nab Tavares.

I totally agree with vermette being suspended for whacking a ref, you can't do that and they need to be protected/feel protected. But I think Nyquist slashing a guy in the face is equally as bad.

Ericksson (frank)ing sucks. It was a panic signing by a rookie GM and Prez. And JB had to give him an inflated contract just to get it done for christ sake.

(frank) me. I WAS in a good mood just now. Cheers.

These guys are holding the fort (the fourth line). Dorsett will return and I think Gaunce is doing a decent job. No he is not scoring but he is not giving up goals either. His goals will come sooner or later.

Our problem is the top line (not complaining) . They are being outscored more than they are producing. Our job in the next three years is to find a new top line.

Maybe?

Can you give me a list of answers I can choose from? That would be helpful. Thx.

Agreed the optics and timing are bad but 10 games is right in my opinion. TSN 1040 was suggesting there was friction prior to the incident but still, no excuse.

Lots pf us here were happy, same as when we took Hodgson and Bourdon. Some sh1t is out of our control. We are a cursed franchise

If Hodgson stayed with us, Im pretty sure he would still be playing in the NHL.

But how does a GM construct a top line in three years without a top 3 pick, an inability to trade aging stars for any type of return, very little to no proven prospects in the system... let alone 1st line ability, and a changing market that's seeing less and less one-sided trades?

Someone might say horvat and boeser can make up 2/3rds of a top line but I don't buy that yet. not at the level of the twins.

Hard to say, but I think we were developing him properly (similarly to how Bo's first year was limited icetime).

At the time I wanted them to move Kesler instead, both because I didnt think he was a good at using his linemates and that he would garner the bigger return. In the middle of a second president's run though I understood keeping him. Still would've liked them to keep Hodgson for at least the remainder of that year

How do you know they won't get a top 3 pick?

Montreal has a top team this year who is their first line? Or Columbus?

You may not like the names of the top line but Canucks will have younger top line in three years.

But didn't he hurt his back training under canuck supervision? I thought that is what ended his career. Buffalo were stupid giving him that contract. Preds took a non-gamble on him and it didn't pay off. End of story regardless if he stayed or left. Same outcome.

But my want for this team goes way beyond what Montreal or Columbus has as a top line. TBH, montreal is the exact opposite 'model' I want my team to follow. An all-star goalie and nothing else.

A young top line is great but they have to be competitive.

This canuck team is just as likely to get into the playoffs as they are to get a top 3 pick. Injuries are mounting but we have no idea what management is thinking. The message has been clear from them, playoffs are a priority and until I hear different it's what I have to expect.

Only The Condescending Matador Marwood controls that.

Just don't mention to him the Burrows extension JB gave. Unless you like to watch YouTube for his hellfire answers.

Then again maybe Vanhockey has a 200 word sentence you could look at.

It may contain Vantel's arguments...er....facts that may help.

I'm going back to counting chickens. Or is that eggs? I don't know. Will wait on the next buzzwords for guidance on Nucknation.

After the Colorado game, which I watched in person, I said that he seemed uninterested in hockey. However, I was told I was wrong, because he had a good game a week before that game...

Who Weber? He's playing well this season but he doesn't drive the wins or losses like carey price does.

And to be honest I still like what Subban brings to the game more than Weber. Just my opinion.

Si Senor. But Sedins will not be moved, neither will one of Edler/Tanev. It just wont happen IMO unless they ask to be. Everyone else though, absolutely all day.

Miller, Vrbata, Eriksson. Why? Regardless of contract length. Why?
