Everything is like a rorschach test. It is what you think it is.

To some extent absolutely. Everyone can spin short statements in the media to help portray their beliefs

Who thinks at this point whether Canucks win or lose these next games if it has any bearing on if JB will make trades at the TDL?

My belief is while he won't buy he's not looking to sell just to pick up something. There is no financial pressure to get rid of contracts. A usual selling point. But there is a balance of interests over value gained over lost. That what they can get, or who is willing to provide a deal they like, will be the decider, if anything is done.

Burr and Miller could be resigned. They like it here and aren't looking to leave or peddle their services to the highest bidder if they go to Free Agency. Just like Hammer and Vrbata the team could have kept them here but chose not to do that. By not getting something for them at TDL was not seen as a loss or setting the development of the team back.

So what's the pressure of interest? Seems to be losing one player to Vegas. Something that could be dealt with later or accepted as opening up a roster spot for prospect.

Exactly, but 5 years after being swept by the Kings we still haven't started a rebuild. 5 wasted years.
- A_SteamingLombardi

Actually in 2012 the canucks were not swept by the kings.

As long as they don't trade away Chaput, it's still viable.

Hansen has also said that there is little he can do other than provide a list, if the Canucks want to trade him. He has said, "...if they want to trade me, there is little I can do to stop them..."

I found the clip in Dragon's archives.

Comets win 5-2 over Marlies last night but 5 unknows do the scoring.

Jake with one assist no shots. That is not a good thing

You had no problem claiming it... then when challenged cast doubt on the source.

- boonerbuck

I still have no problem claiming it. It came from Tony Gallagher, what more do you want me to say? I never said it was verified, I never said it was anything more than a article coming from Tony Gallagher. Not sure why people are getting all uptight about it. If Botch says something, and I repost it, its essentially the same thing. Botch can lie, Gallagher can lie, they can also tell the truth. Eat a snickers bud.

Not a good thing at all. Yet Green will say that his 200 foot game has come a long way

I know . The GM or coach can spin it any way they want but I check stats every game and not only is the point production alarming but the shot production is horrible also.

I don't watch the games but I follow the in game tweets put out by Comets and there is a whole lot of nothing there.

It really makes you wonder how much last year hurt his development. You see kids out of junior who score 45-50 goals in one season have a much easier time transitioning to the AHL than what Virtanen is showing.

The sooner people here realize Virtanen is just another Kassian the better.

Funny thing is we harped on our GMs for never taking the local guy or guy like Lucic or Gallagher, and when they finally do, it's the wrong pick.

I could not give a poop if a player is local or not. In fact, I would rather that they aren't just based off of distractions off ice. I think we see players from BC/VAN/Victoria that are pretty solid players in the NHL and we want them as Canucks, but in reality you don't see any of them waiting it out for free agency to come join us (apart from Hamhuis).

haha he chose us because of how he viewed our D corps and where he fit in as far as D depth and knew he had a pretty good chance of playing right away

Obviously you missed the feature on him last game as he drove to the rink and was interviewed. Pretty clear he chose Vancouver because it was his hometown team.

we'll see how he treats this offseason. who he trains with. how hard he works. Let's see what kind of camp he has. If it's not good and he continues to flounder in the AHL then we got a problem. I'm writing this year off.

It's up to him to see how bad he wants this.

lol I was just playing, hence the winky face. I know 100% he chose VAN because he loves the Canucks. And I thank Benning for being able to sell him on it. I also see players like Benn/Kane/Barrie, who are also local boys, and just think, my god if they were to play in VAN, where all their buddies live, it could be a huge off ice distraction as they all like to party outside the rink.
