Remember some of your predictions! Marner will not make this team, Matthews will be lucky to get 40 to 50 points, Leafs will not be close to a playoff spot. Now remember some of mine!
- winsix

I predicted the Leafs would have 63pts after 55 games, led by Marner and Matthews would have 27 goals at that point.

Don't bother actually checking though, it's true.

The Leafs have two better fourth line centres on the farm, Froese and Gauthier. Both better penalty killers and better offensively. Both can win face offs on either the left or right dot.
- LeafMan

froese would be a fit... being right handed

i think gauthier is just down on the depth chart due to which way he shoots

both matthews and kadri shoot left.... which means gauthier wont likely see much NHL time... not under the babcock "balance is crucial" approach....be nice if they could move him in a package to upgrade the D... he is an NHL caliber depth C man 100%

According to Joe Bowen you want someone who can take a draw then immediately get off the ice.

I think we should do Nylander for Tanev trade before Vancouver changes their mind. maybe it should be Matthews for Tanev and we can throw in a pick too.

Stop modifying the trade, it's Nylander, Carrick and a 3rd for Tanev and a 2nd.

i admit i was wrong on marner... as for matthews... i honestly did not expect him to be this good

that being said... dismissing a point of view because someone was wrong before is asinine at best

you've been wrong too... we all have

Froese is another player that plays full out every shift, perfect 4th line centre. He score as well. I would much rather have him up than Smith. Gauthier would make sense being a learning year for rookies to have up. Both better options than Smith.

I also had faith in Leivo being an NHL player, he wins puck battles along the boards, something that is needed especially with this team. Also has a great shot and release.

I would switch Leivo and Hyman. I am pretty sure Leivo could score 25 goals playing with AM34.

i really do like leivo as well... prefer him to soshnikov in that particular role personally

with smith, i also wonder if he is there as an example to the young kids trying to crack the lineup or who are already in it... a vet guy who is a fringe NHLer who has to work his ass off just to stay on the team

what happens on the ice is only part of the learning experience for the kids

Leivo is great! Leafs need to parley Bozak+JVR into a draft pick / more futures or defense. This opens up a spot at centre for Nylander to swap over to (Matthews, Kadri, Nylander, Gauthier becomes the order @ C).

Moving JVR out and Nylander to C moves up some W spots -- one for Leivo and one for Kapanen
